Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The dining situation at Fordham leaves a lot to be desired by the students who have to eat there. If there's one thing that Fordham students agree on, it's the food. The majority of students will tell you that the food is awful, especially what is served in the main dining hall. Fordham regularly finds itself on lists of colleges with the worst food, and often toward the top of those lists. Most Fordham students can't quite put their fingers on what they dislike most about the food, but many tend to agree that the dissatisfaction has a lot to do with the lack of flavor (or sometimes over peppering) in the food and the choices of food offered. The worst aspects of dining at Fordham are the outrageous prices of the meal plans, which are mandatory to students without kitchens. Students feel that for $2,500 per semester, they should be receiving a much higher quality of food. Many students voice their complaints about the food, but to no avail, as the administration remains content to charge extremely high prices for food that most students only eat because they are left with no other options.

As if the food itself wasn't bad enough, most of the people who work in food services at Fordham are unpleasant and rude to students. Fordham also managed to get itself some unsatisfactory marks from the health inspectors in early 2011, which is pretty sad considering the White Castle on Fordham Road managed to score an "A" rating in cleanliness. However, in Fordham's defense, it did clean up its act immediately. But sadly for the students, the food did not taste any better.

No Alternative for Nasty Sudexo

The idea of Lincoln Center dining isn't terrible...but the food is. The minimum dollar amount required for every freshmen is $1600 but that rolls over year to year, which is fair. The food itself is terrible, people who eat sodexo regularly experience food poisoning and the New Red Mango addition to the cafe is the only decent food but the hours it's open are scarce.

Few Options

You have to buy a meal plan and eat terrible, low quality food from the Cafeteria. Not many options on campus.
