Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Diversity at Fordham depends on your idea of true diversity. There is a decent number of minorities, with roughly 28 percent of the student body being a minority. However, that still leaves a large 72 percent of white students. Fordham has students from 49 states—plus Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, as well as 66 different countries.

As a Catholic school, it is no surprise that most students are of the Catholic faith. However, all faiths are welcomed and celebrated at Fordham, so whether or not you're a practicing Catholic, Fordham welcomes you and helps you to practice your own religion. Despite the seeming lack of diversity in student ethnicities, Fordham has a large number of cultural minority groups on campus. These groups host fun events celebrating the many different cultures and traditions practiced by Fordham students. The minority groups invite all students to their events in order to share their traditions with the rest of the Fordham community, rather than just keeping to themselves, making Fordham a great place to learn about other cultures.

Not a Problem

Many Irish/Italian Catholics. Although not as diverse as many other schools, the social atmosphere is very open and not at all divisive according to sexual orientation or ethnic background. Also, the BX campus is located in the middle of an extremely diverse neighborhood consisting of Blacks, Latinos, and Eastern Europeans.

Fairly Diverse

Fordham's campus is filled with many different types if people coming from all over the U.S and world. Although there are many diverse students there are also a good amount of the classic white upper class students with the best electronics and accessories.
