College Prowler Take
Is any one college student ever truly happy with his or her dating scene? Lincoln Center females are easily frustrated by their overwhelming numbers on campus, and also the fact that a good number of the available males are gay. The lack of a social community doesn’t help them either. Unfortunately, Rose Hill women tend to find the same jock-and-beer men over and over again. The males at both campuses have things a little better, since competition is less fierce. There is also a better variety of females, ranging from the “really, we do eat” dancers to the “really, we do date” liberal feminists. Members of both sexes at Lincoln Center find love off campus more than on, frequently visiting bars and clubs further downtown, while Rose Hill students suffer through a monotonous recycling program by visiting the same bars over and over again.

Girls at Fordham tend to be very metropolitan and very into city life. You'll find a few who think they're princesses, but for the most part girls here are friendly and easy to talk to.

Off-campus parties are usually pretty good places to meet girls. You find a lot of people you’ve never seen before. |

As a female, the dating scene on campus sucks. We outnumber the guys, and most of them are gay anyway. Plus, our competition includes a whole gang of dancers. Go off campus to meet someone! |

I’ve never dated a Fordham guy. I just don’t seem to click with any. True, a lot are gay, but the rest just don’t interest me. |

Guys are kind of jockish here, and I’m not into that. The alternative ones seem to be taken, so I guess the dating scene is pretty bad. |

Social Scene
At Rose Hill, dorms form social communities, but the rigid security often makes Rose Hill parties dangerous endeavors. Rose Hill's social life buzzes behind closed doors and off-campus house parties. The local bars, and there are many, are the best places to mingle. There isn't much of a conventional social scene in the Manhattan campus. Since suite rooms are self-contained, residents can go through the entire school year without ever meeting their neighbors. Most students head downtown for the weekend nights, hitting Village hot spots and clubs.
Hookups or Relationships?
With women outnumbering men (and straight men at that), the couple population is hardly thriving, although many guys seem to be in relationships. Lincoln Center's unsocial social scene tends to lead students outside the Fordham dating pool, while Rose Hill parties birth a fair share of midnight hookups and cutesy coupling.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
At Rose Hill, students can count on flirting at the various Belmont area bars. Upper Deck and The Ram's Lounge are popular destinations with intimate, dark lighting, accordingly. On campus, dorms are always buzzing with parties (or the news of where the off-campus parties are arriving). When all else fails, the gyms will always be busy and spring will bring out the sunbathing crowd on Martyr's Lawn. Lincoln Center students tend to do most socializing on the New York City scene. On campus, special events, such as movie nights and club parties, may allow you to mingle, but the party scene remains dull. Head to Central Park on a nice day, and hit someone with your Frisbee; go to a club at night, and hit the dance floor.
Dress Code
At Lincoln Center, the daily dress code ranges from residents-in-pajamas to commuters dressed for business interviews. Freshmen tend to take more care in their appearances before learning for those 10 a.m. classes that don't require hair gel (or even a hair brush). Once the afternoon swings by, students seem to morph into H&M ads. Rose Hill produces a preppier, generally casual student fashion. Expect your Abercrombie and J.Crew students to make their daily appearances on the school runway, though.
