I live off campus, but I still live at home. The apartments anywhere near the campus are usually ten minutes or more away.

I love the parking system at Francis Marion University. It is always easy to find a convenient spot to park. None of the parking spots are very far away from any of the buildings.

Francis Marion University is very diverse in very many different aspects. The economic background is what I think is the most diverse here at Francis Marion University. Sexual orientation is also another thing that is really diverse at Francis Marion University. Here at Francis Marion University, it doesn't matter about your race, your economic background, your political beliefs, your religion, or you sexual orientation. Everyone at Francis Marion University fits in, and the people make everyone feel at home!

I don't live on campus so this doesn't apply to me.

Getting financial aid was awful! The emails and instructions are unclear. And that's only IF they give them to you. Undergrad was never this hard. Towards the end of this semester, I still hadn't heard anything and I was getting nervous so I went to the FA office to check it out. Apparently, I was suppose to accept an offer I didn't even receive any information about. I was aggravated at the time, but just happy to get it handled.

Again, I have no idea. You really should put more options to answer these questions.

We have great weather in Charleston. It doesn't really snow, but when it rains its somewhat difficult. They don't call it the "lowcountry" for nothing.

I moved to Charleston for the simple fact that is Charleston. The fact that my grad program is here is serendipitous. Charleston offers everything anyone could want....restaurants, shops, entertainment, culture. You don't need much more here.

Campus is downtown Charleston. It's where people go when they go out no matter where they live in the Charleston area. There are hundreds of spots to eat, drink, and be merry! You just take your choice of food and its in walking distance.

I don't notice a lot of diversity on CofC. All the kids look the same to me.

It is easier to not have a car on campus. It is in the middle of everything and there really isn't a need for a car. Public transportation is great and there are taxis and rickshaws everywhere.

I wouldn't know any that. I live off campus but I have a house of my own.

Health & Safety:
Because our campus is so centralized to the city, I always feel safe. I leave class at 8:30 some nights and there are always people around. I never feel worried or scared.

Ok, you really need a "N/A" option up there. The assumption that everyone in college is 18-21 is annoying.

I am a 36-yr-old graduate student so I'm probably not the best person to ask about these things. Our campus is beautiful, though, because its downtown Charleston. It has history and beauty. Great to walk to classes on.

We have two campus-funded dining options. They are both the same just spaced out on campus. It's buffet-style and around $9. There is always at least two main dishes and lots of sides. There is a sandwich bar, salad bar, soup bar, and dessert bar also. The food is good and satisfying. I wouldn't say there's anything that stands out to me. It's just regular food. Good enough to get you through the day!

I find the parking at CofC is usually hit or miss. I try to leave in enough time where I can circle long enough to find a parking place. On Wednesdays, I'm in class for 4+ hours so if I use the parking garages, its $16. That can add up if you do it four times a month. I usually like to find a space with a parking meter. On my lucky days, I find a space in between my two classes where I can change out books and put money in the meter. I'm lucky to be a grad student where I'm not on campus but two days a week.

The dining hall is ok but not all that good. You get tired of having the same thing over and over again. The only other on campus place to eat is the grille and its kind of expensive.

Lots of choice and very close to classrooms

They have a wonderful and friendly staff.

Health & Safety:
I have not been to our health facility yet but a friend of mine has gone and she said she felt okay like she was in a real doctors office. They helped her very nicely.

It's pretty okay at Francis Marion. The buses run around campus, they just don't run on campus long enough in my opinion (they stop coming to fmu at 4:20) but it's free and taxis dont really discount or anything the students so it's really only the bus.

It only bothers me when it is cold and when it rains but the cold is livable, the rain absolutely can ruin the day here.Classes are fairly far from the dorms in the rain. Most classes are about a 15 minute walk from the dorms or apartments but with the rain that 15 mins feels like its 30 fast.

I received a fairly decent amount of financial aid, it really just took a little bit of work.At least my student loans won't be deathly high when I graduate.

Florence is a great area. It is more rural than urban, but there are a lot of opportunities here, I think. I enjoy living here.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
