College Prowler Take

Students seem remarkably unaware of the sports scene. And although several teams at F&M have winning seasons, the relatively low profile of varsity sports on campus limits the number of spectators. Teams bend over backwards to boost the number of attendants to their games because students who attend are usually enthusiastic in their support and have fun.

Many F&M students participate in at least one club or intramural sport. However, for those who seek them out, the sports scene thrives. One-third of the guys play a varsity sport, and one-fourth of the women do. The number of intramural players is higher than that. Dips certainly aren’t lumps of inactivity, even if they aren’t the most spirited fans!

Varsity sports on campus are a...

Varsity sports on campus are a significant part of campus life. We have a turf field, an indoor pool, gym, and a workout facility. Varsity sports make up a huge part of F&M's social atmosphere. Athletes cannot go out on Friday nights, so a majority of the campus prefers going out on Saturdays. Any student can participate in intramural sports, and many do. I play varsity soccer and also participate in intramural volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer.

Psychology

For a Division III school,...

For a Division III school, Franklin & Marshall has an extremely talented pool of athletes. The admissions committee is basically looking for a well-rounded student, one that tends to be strong academically but also has talents in other areas. Our sports, music, art, and drama departments are all much more advanced than other schools of our size and stature because of this admissions process. Come play sports at F&M if you want a competitive program that allows you to have a life besides playing that sport. Our fan base is also huge when it comes to games for basketball, lacrosse, and soccer especially!
