College Prowler Take
Although most agree that the food is better and has a larger variety and a better presentation, many seem to feel that the trade-offs in terms of space just haven’t been worth it. The changes at the dining hall are heralded with more optimism. Now there is a make-your-own waffle station and made-to-order omelets with a staggering array of filling options. The made-to-order pasta station is amongst the most popular food choices. The addition of KIVO is a student favorite, and the chicken salad is a must have. Pandini’s, located in Steinman, is a vaguely Italian pizza and pasta lunch stand. Quizno’s occupies the porch of Marshall-Buchanan hall, which is a great place to eat after hitting the frats. There is also Jazzman’s on the ground floor at the Barnes and Noble bookstore. It is in a prime location for coffee or a muffin and provides room for students to socialize and work between classes. Again, the lack of space has become a common refrain, with fewer than two dozen seats in the immediate area. Hopefully, as the school gathers feedback on the changes, they will make a corresponding shift in practices. If you are a vegetarian or a health-conscious eater, good luck, because they options are fairly limited.

There are pretty many options for food on campus. The food is generally pretty good, and most places offer healthy dining options. The dining hall has something for everyone. Local restaurants around campus are also contracted on the college's debit dollars system, so you can eat virtually anywhere you want!

The food is pretty good. Now that I live off campus, I really appreciate it, but if you live in the dorms you can get bored of the food. The best bang for your buck is the dining hall, but you can also go to Pandini's or Quiznos. These options often require more than one meal swipe or using debit dollars. The dining hall really makes an effort to cater to students—we now have an entire kosher section. The vegetarian options used to be better, but some of the food—especially the soups—are wonderful!

The food on campus is great until the end of the semester when you get sick of eating the same things, and they start to run out of food. Jazzman's is great to grab a small snack or a fresh salad for lunch. Pandini's is a good option for lunch, though it's best to choose for dinner as far as your meal plan allotment goes. The pasta and salads are pretty tasty and prepared right in front of you to your specifications there.

The food on campus is so-so. The dining hall is average at best. It is not a very fast or efficient way to feed the masses, even though some students do enjoy it. Pandini's is probably the best food on campus; however, the lines are extremely long when you are trying to get a meal. Also, they need to have more than one register open at a time. Jazzman's is a great place to just grab something small and a drink before class. Franklin & Marshall needs some more places for their students to eat.

Did You Know?Block plans are more flexible than traditional meal plans because meals don’t expire at the end of a week or month and are not as rigid about scheduled meals. A Kosher, International, Vegan and Organic (KIVO) section has been added to the Restaurants at Ben Franklin to provide students with healthier options, as well as choices that adhere to certain dietary needs. All the food in KIVO meets kosher dietary laws.
