College Prowler Take
Franklin & Marshall students tend to lean toward the clean-cut, preppy sort. Few students can complain that there are no hot prospects. The ratio of guys to girls at F&M is about 50/50, so whichever you prefer, your game is plentiful. The girls complain that the guys are self-involved twits, and the guys complain that the girls are self-absorbed airheads, but they continue to go after each other. It appears to be the case that the guys are dateable if you can put up with video games and backwards baseball caps. The girls are dateable if you can deal with smart girls trying a little too hard to pretend they’re not. Hot is relative—we’ll never be at UCLA for the sun-bronzed hotties, but we’re pretty content with our contents.

Franklin & Marshall has a mix of...
Franklin & Marshall has a mix of people ranging from the over-priveleged, preppy snobs to pretentious hipsters. Not to say they're all terrible. Most of the people at F&M are very nice and kind, but they're also obsessed with looks and money. Some of the guys aren't too good looking but the girls, they're pretty hot. I don't feel like there is a typical F&M student, but I would describe every single student as an overachiever in some way or another.

The typical student is fairly wealthy, smart, and plays some sort of sport. People are outgoing when they go out because the school is so small—everyone knows one another. They're are not that many good-looking people to be frank.

The guys are a mix, as are the girls. You’ll find all kinds of different people at F&M (though very few of different ethnic and racial backgrounds; diversity is not big at this school). There are some great guys and girls at F&M and then again, there aren’t; it’s hard to say. I love the people I’m friends with and have a great time with them. People are generally really friendly, especially when they’ve had a bit to drink, so you can almost always find someone to talk to. There are some hot guys, but it’s slim pickings. Girls—don’t expect to find your soul mate here. As for the girls . . . oh we are so hot! |

Social Scene
While a number of students meet their Mr. or Ms. Right Now at a party, many Fummers do find a soul mate on campus. Traditional dates are less common than group dates or simply hanging out.
Hookups or Relationships?
Although it is possible to have a relationship while at F&M, hookups are far more common. It’s much more likely to find a hookup at a frat party than a significant other, but some manage to have relationships all throughout their time at F&M. Surprisingly enough, drunken debauchery doesn’t lend itself to serious commitment. What are the odds?
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
In class, through friends, or at a party. Steer clear of hooking up at frat parties if commitment is what you seek.
Dress Code
Franklin and Marshall is a fairly preppy school, but there are certainly a variety of styles going on amongst students. While a typical “uniform” includes Polo shirts and Nantucket Reds, you can sometimes spot a fashionista sporting all black and Nicole Richie style sunglasses walking across campus. However, when 8 a.m. class roles around, don’t expect to see students in much more than pajama pants and F&M sweatshirts.
