Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking at F&M is a challenge. When the school got rid of the secure lot a few years ago, parking became even more difficult. Now those lucky enough to have a car at school must drive in circles until they can find an empty spot, or they might have to risk getting a ticket. Students are only permitted to park on the street in certain places, although it is strongly advised against due to theft and vandalism.

Parking in FSA (Faculty, Staff and Administration) spots are highly advised against, and Public Safety is not opposed to multiple tickets during each of their hourly (or more frequent) patrols. It’s not unheard of for an illegally parked student to rack up hundreds of dollars in fines. Steer clear of the College Row Parking lot unless you have a designated space because they frequently tow. Drivers should also be aware of the street cleaning rules because you will almost always get a ticket if you park on the street during a street cleaning day.

We Could Use More Spots

Freshmen can't have cars. Parking permits are required for everyone else, but I'm pretty sure they're not very expensive. Parking is a little bit tough to find depending on the day, and be cautious of which street you choose to park on unless you remember the street cleaning schedule. Cars are never towed, just ticketed.
