Frederick Community College is a small school when compared to most four-year institutions. This means it has a better student-teacher ratio and it's easier travel to and from buildings on campus, as they are closer together.  Instructors don't see students as just numbers or names. Most of the instructors are very good about checking their emails and connecting with their students. Not that four-year college instructors don't, it's just easier to do with 6,000 students instead of 27,000. 

FCC is a good starter school for those who want to further their education. The yearly tuition costs about as much as boarding fees do in a four-year college, so students have less of a problem with funding.  There is a payment plan to go with tuition, as well as several scholarships.

FCC provides for many different student needs. The certification program at FCC gives students the basic knowledge they need for certain jobs, as do the continuing education courses. The degree programs at FCC are typical of most community colleges, and many students complete their degrees within 2.5 years (many students work, so an added half a year lowers stress) or transfer with the credits they already have.
