Students can either live on campus or off campus. Living on campus is honestly a blast! Of course there will be the problems in the first year since the freshman on campus do not get to choose who all they room with in Green Hall but once you move past the differences, everybody seems to get along pretty well. The dorms are really nice, large, and kept clean. Going to visit other schools after seeing the quality of these dorms made my choice so much easier. I have not seen any other campus have nice, large dorms like these. After moving out of the freshman dorms, students are given the opportunity to choose where they would like to live and who they would like to live with, if they want somebody to live with. The dorms only get better! There are even on campus houses that students can choose to live in. There are many options and I believe that the housing options are reasonably priced.

I began my journey here as a Business major. I quickly changed my decision into an Elementary Education major. The transition was a tad bit tricky because my Business adviser did not want to see me go. However, my new Education adviser was very welcoming and made me feel as if I was already one of her own. Getting accepted to the school from the beginning was not too difficult. The main focus is the GPA. If the student's GPA is a 2.5 then the student is pretty much accepted. The only way that somebody with this GPA or higher could not get accepted is if there was trouble with the law. I suggest that any student wanting to attend Friends University should keep in touch with their adviser so that the years go by smoothly and effectively.

This is Kansas so you never know what the weather will be like. We get all types of weather around here. If you don't like the weather just wait ten minutes and it will change is the saying around here.

I do all of my classes online so I do not spend any time on campus.

I am an adult student so I really do not know what that life is like.

I would say that they do not judge anyone for any reason at Friends. I have had nothing but a positive experience while attending there.

the academics at friends is basically how you put yourself out to be a public person, that how they grade you here. Becoming a out going person, basically becoming a leader.

people treat others the same way, everyone knows each other and the housing is alright for college students.
College Senior 2013-09-15T06:43:09Z
their is not much strictness going on, but you cannot have alcohol on campus and no parties are aloud.
College Senior 2013-09-15T06:41:49Z
friends university is a great opportunity for education and business majors, you get close with teachers because the classes are small. facilities are a C+ grade, they need to be upgraded. Sports teams are excellent and you know a lot of people around campus.

Topeka is not a very big city so the options for activities are limited.

I have to participate in discussion forums every week with the other members in my program. It is nice to interact with them about the coursework. I have to write several papers and essays. I also have short exams that are relatively easy if you have the correct textbook. I do enjoy it because the layout of the program is very organized and easy to follow. It is unique in the sense that I only take one course at a time. I like this aspect because I can allow all my attention on one subject and achieve better grades.
College Senior 2013-08-01T15:33:21Z
It was rather easy to get into the program. I had to obtain copies of my transcripts because I was entering as a transfer student. The most important criteria for admission was my college transcripts. I had to have above a certain GPA and I had to have a certain amount of credits. A tip I would reccomend is to be patient and follow all the steps in order.

I would definitely do it all over again, given the option. I believe it is a very organized, convenient program. It has been flexible and manageable, the coursework isn't extremely challenging, at the same time, not too easy either. I feel as if I'm learning a great deal and retaining my knowledge. My career goals are to be an elementary school teacher and I'm concerned I won't find a job due to the recent increase in teacher cuts.

As a business management major, I don't intend on obtaining an internship. However, after I receive my degree, I plan on student teaching and receiving my Texas teacher's certificate. I will have a one-year paid student internship as well as required coursework.

Friends is located in Wichita, Kansas which is abundant in different types of restaurants, many of which are quite close to the University.

It is an intensely Christian school. Any drug consumption happens away from the campus.

I am a music major and not really interested in the athletics at Friends, although I hear great things about it.

If there's a major event going on, parking can be a minor annoyance but on a day to basis, it is very easy to get a spot close by. Traditional undergrads make up a majority of the school's population and most of them live on campus and walk to class.

Buildings are in great shape. Buildings however need to be updated to be more "green"

The athletic program is great and amazing for a private school.
College Senior 2013-07-06T17:35:26Z
All facilities are well maintained. Some however are outdated buildings and would need some updating.

There are a handful of fast food restaurants a few blocks away from campus. The convenience isn't always the best especially when one is on a time crunch.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
