I came from a pretty small school. So, the diversity is a lot better than from where I graduated high school from. It opened my eyes to this type of racial diversity. I was raised in a very accepting and humble household, so I don't discriminate by any means. Friends University is the same to me. But, it doesn't receive an A because I'm sure that there are better diversified schools out there.

While the professors are highly academic, most seem more suited to a scholars life than teaching, and have little to no passion for helping students succeed. The variety and quality of the courses, however, make up for the lack of dedicated professors.

Friends University is a small campus, so transportation is not necessary.

While Security is readily available for events, or even a late night walk across campus, they do not prevent the multiple car and facility break-ins.

It is not a city that offers alot of transport. Though cars are easy to drive here with little confusion and minimal traffic.

Being a christian School, once someone announces they are atheist or non affiliate to religion, judgements are easily assumed by many. Although, they are willing to accept anyone else, gay, poor, rich, middle class, black, white. Though I have noticed Asians can be left out quite alot.

It is not very strict. Though the security at night needs some work, with some car break ins and damage.

It depends. If it snows they try to keep it open, yet if it is dangerous conditions they will close keeping students safety first. Dorms are walking distance to classes and off campus students have the easy access of the high way. Roads are usually prepared for snow and is usually responsive quickly.

They are upto date on all there computers and software. There is little to no wait time when on the Internet.
College Senior 2013-03-05T16:53:32Z
Classes often do not get cancelled however if too much bad weather accumulates the board does cancel often by 10pm so it can it the news. There is also a safety alert system in place to help notify students if a cancellation occurs The sidewalks are kept free of all kinds of debris including leaves, sticks, snow, and ice, and the grounds crew keep the campus neat and tidy. The weather is never the same in the same day from warm in the afternoon to cold at night and the next day completely different that if a person prefers a different type then all they have to do is wait.

The doorm offered at Friends is Green for Only 1st year students. They come with everything needed like applicance and space. Then there are the Glenn Apts. which are furnished and shared between 2 roomates yet they are a 5 min walk to campus so they are really close. Other places are the Falon Flats. The Flats and Glenn are reserved for upperclassman.

Nightlife for many is working; sports or extra curricular actives for others there are parties if on campus wihtout alcohol due to being a dry campus. If off campus sometimes alcohol can be at athe pary. Many parties on campus are held by the student body with free music, food and entertainment.

Casado is not bad, but it can get real boring after a while. Plus, the dinners on the weekend are terrible. Jazzman's is always wonderful though.

I am a physical therapy major, and I enjoy teachers and classes very much. Counselors and student services also do a great job with any questions and assistance

Off campus housing is no problem, there are apartments actually on campus owned by the school and managed by the school. You gat to experience the freedom of an apartment, living on your own, but with the safety of being on campus with school security

Parking is free, but close parking is limited. Covered parking is available on first come first serve basis.

Health & Safety:
We do have off duty police officers and security guards that monitor the small campus. The only crime that I know of occurs when students leave valuables in plain sight and get their cars broken into. I have walked around late at night to get back to my apartment across the street and never have felt threatened.

It is ok. I am currently in the university apartments which are spacious for me and my roommate. You are required to furnish your own apartment but one of the other complexes know comes furnished. There are several activities done throughout the year to get students involved. The main problem is thin walls so you can hear everything from the toilet flushing to night time activities.

I am a zoo science major. It is a great program for students interested in a zoo career. We take classes at the zoo taught by keepers and curators as well as volunteer many hours. The workload is pretty easy to manage and easy to schedule. Internship and job opportunities are fairly easy to find because we are one of the few schools, if not the only, that offers a bachelors degree related to the zoo field.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
