Guys & Girls:
There is a wide diversity on the campus that ranges from geeky students to country kids who wear camo and everyone in between. Students where what they want as long as it is appropiate and they are themselves. They dont get bullied or made fun of because of who they are and that is a good campus. There is an accent for some of the kids and others have no accent. It is a nice change to be around a bunch of different students.

I feel the strictness is about average. The school is not too strict but not too easy on problems they may have. The school takes pride in their academics and wants their students to succeed. If another student is preventing a student from getting the education they deserve then the school will intervene and give the student disciplinary actions.

Greek life is a way to make new friends and have sisters or brothers for life. Greek is a good way for freshman to make friends an get involved at the school especially if they are freshman. Getting to know new people helps students have a better education at the college so they are lonely and get involved. The greek life is not only for making friends but they can help you in your classes, offering a bunch of people with different majors to help if you are having a problem in a class. Another thing about greek life is that you don't have to join if you don't want to and you will not be harassed by sorities or frats.

I've heard it's cheaper to live off campus but its also farther away from everything: the class buildings, food, everything. I love the dorms they are ideal. Refrigerator and microwave are quite convenient.

Health & Safety:
There are going to be people who rebel and not follow all of the rules. But issues are rare far a part. Police are constantly doing rounds and are friendly and quick responders. No reason not to feel safe.

The on campus ones are good but there are some off campus, illegitimate ones that should be avoided because they haze participants. There are a lot of events through Greek life so it can be a lot of fun and you'll make a lot of friends.

The houses off campus aren't the most beautiful things on the outside but they are tolerable on the inside. There are a lot of old houses and a few nicer, new ones but those are more expensive and hard to get. I live in Edgewood Commons and I love it. There is a game room, a fitness room, an all night computer lab, and pretty nice rooms and apartments. The best part is that the water and electric is included in the rent so you can use all of the water and electric you need. The only problem is, each room has their own water heater so be aware of how much hot water you use. The walls are thin so if something is going on in your apartment or the neighboring one there is a chance you will be able to hear it, sometimes funny, sometimes annoying.

Frostburg is very diverse. There are many foreign exchange students from Asia and other locations. There is also a wide range of different races and ethnicities and there are clubs for almost any group of people. I would like to say Frostburg is very open to sexual orientation. We have quite a large LGBT group.

The cafeteria food always makes me feel sick. My friends and I always joke that they lace the food with laxatives. They usually change your eating options daily which is nice and their late night dinners are usually a lot of fun. When they have wings at late night the lines go out the door. The food at Lane is pretty good but it begins to get old after a while and if you aren't careful you can spend way too much. I recommend getting a bobcat card rather than a meal plan because that money can be used at places off campus, including Sheetz, grocery stores, and McDonald's.

The campus has a lot of rules but none are them are intolerable. Just do what you're supposed to be doing. I kind of wish they would be A LOT more strict about their smoke free campus policy. It sucks to walk into a cloud of smoke just to get to class.

Health & Safety:
Police Everywhere – Campus police are ALWAYS riding around so there isn't much crime on campus that I'm aware of. People's rooms have been broken into though in the dorm halls. I feel safe enough to walk around campus at night by myself.

As an Exercise & Sports Science major, I knew it was the right profession for me. I enjoyed all the classes that I took during my freshmen year at school. My career goals are to become a Sports Physical Therapist and try to help the big athletes in the world like the Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and all the other greats that play to this day if they ever get one of those. The concerns I have about finding a job on the field is having a job in the field that is far away from family and friends.

I go to Frostburg State University, and I have been happy with my program so far, I've just finished my first year of college in the program and everything is going well. All my professors that I've had so far have been very cool and understanding, they understand how it is to be a college student and the rough and hard times that we go through to be in the program.

The process of financial aid can be difficult sometimes, I received a low amount of financial aid, and that made it difficult to pay some of the bills for the school. I would suggest to gain help from any person who had significant experience with financial aid, or talk to your financial aid officer at your school.

The process of getting into my Exercise & Sports Science major was very easy. I did not need submit an application to the school when I was applying. What was needed was to go to the Physical Education office at my school and talk to one lady at the main office and tell her that I wanted my major to be Exercise & Sports Science and it was changed that day.

As an exercise and sports science major, I would like to be involved in the physical therapy type of field, which would also act as an internship kind of way. My responsibilities would be helping the physical therapist, shadowing the physical therapist and help with organizing the patients paper work. No I do not have any concerns finding an internship because I know physical therapist in the field who can help me out.

It really depends on who you hang out with. There's not really an abundance of drugs on campus so there's nothing to worry about. Most of the time you'll see people drinking.

The computers in the library are usually always crowded during the day and its really hard to find one available. The computer lab in the Lane center are usually open. It's great when finals week come around and they have the 24 hour computer lab and the library stays open until 2am.

Greek life is amazing at Frostburg! I am currently in Sigma Alpha Iota which is a International Music Fraternity for women. You also get to interact with a lot of different organizations by being involved. It's no big deal if you don't join one, but it definitely enhances your experience. It made me choose to stay at Frostburg instead of transferring. There are always more organizations coming to campus every semester and there's a wide variety to choose from.

Parking on campus is fairly easy as far as classes go. But if you want parking close to your dorm, and you're in the lower part of campus, its almost impossible to get close parking (which is a blow in the winter time). You don't have to have a car to get around campus and there are multiple buses that come to campus and take you around the city. On campus parking permits are free and are $40 for off campus for the year.

The dorms are not much to brag over. Every dorm is different. Some dorms have quads which are the better dorms. Others just have regular rooms which are a little smaller and less spacious. Some dorms are a little older and dirtier then others.

There are so many places to eat around Frostburg. There are alot of popular places like mdconalds, pizza hut, and kfc. But there are also places that are not as popular and well known but have amazing food. You will not spend alot of money and most of these places send coupons and have specials all of the time. They really try to look out for the college students.

At Frostburg State University drugs are not a big thing. Most people just drink and that is about it. There are a couple of people that smoke but not a huge group.

Fairly Diverse – There's a good amount of diversity on campus. We also have exchange students from China.

Not too many options other than fast food. My favorite restaurant is Sand Springs. Not too far from campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
