Walking around campus at night has never really been a problem. There are emergency buttons stationed around all the different parts of campus. If you are walking by yourself and you do not feel safe for any reason, then you can hit that button, and the Frostburg State University police will come to the signal and escort you to wherever you need to go. Very rarely are these buttons pressed, mainly because the students feel incredibly safe; the police station is on campus, and the police are always doing different things to make the students feel safer. The only times students don’t feel safe is when they are walking alone at night off campus. Even then, the police are patrolling the streets looking for any possible threat.
As for the health center on campus, the Brady Health Center is an excellent resource. The prices for exams, shots, and anything else are very low. It has flexible hours for students. However, do not skip class because you are “sick” and then go to Brady asking for a doctor’s note. That will not work. If you are legitimately sick, then make an appointment with Brady (you may be able to get an appointment that same day if you are lucky), and use the receipt from them as documentation for your absence.
