I am finding doing online classes is a lot more difficult than classroom there is more work and you have to hold yourself accountable

Mostly, my school consists of younger students. I am an older student and mostly thought of by others and no competition my GPA however is a 3.75 and the school needs to recognize older students more

Quality of Career Center – Not so sure that the career center actually helps students find jobs. Have heard from graduated students they are not helpful They are not very accessible

I was not sure at first that any online courses were for me, but after taking a few I enjoyed them. They are convenient for me and fit well into my everyday schedule. Yes online classes offered are great, but school needs to offer more

Need for Personal Computer – There are not enough computers on campus for students when needed
Printing on campus is an issue the printers always jam and librarians act like it is a crime to print power points, however Professors continue to place many lessons on power points and students without home computers have no options. Also they are going to start charging for copies from printers as students we cannot afford this

The nursing labs at Gateway are very educational and helpful to learn all the tasks that are expected of the students. The computer labs have enough computers in them that I have never seen someone have to wait for one to come available and they are always improving the networks to be at the top speed and working properly.

I like that my school has teamed up with the local public transportation department to offer free bus shuttles to all the campuses. I have seen many students taking advantage of this opportunity and some solely depend on this mode of transportation.

All the campuses have resources readily available and I have never had to wait for a computer to become available. The tutoring services are made to fit in any schedule and the tutors are very friendly. They do not make you feel uncomfortable about being there. The campuses are very comfortable to stay before or after class to study.

The reason I chose this school was because of the flexibility of the classes. Having children and trying to go back to school, they give me the ease of returning. I love that my credits will transfer to another school and they make the transfer easy for me. The instructors are more than willing to help the students with anything that may need help with, including other classes.

At Gateway Community and Technical College there is a very nice library. However, there are no activities or athletics to get involved with. Since it is such a small school and no one lives on campus, there isn't a lot to do there besides going to class.

At Gateway Community and Technical College, the academics are great. The professors and the teacher's assistants go above and beyond their expectations to make sure we understand the curriculum. It is easy to set up classes because you can set them up online or you can meet with your adviser and he/she will help you set up classes that will accommodate you and your schedule.

At Gateway Community and Technical college, I feel that it is unique because it is a small school. The class size is only about 25 people. That means we get more one on one time with our professors. Also, the professors are willing to meet with the students that are struggling before or after class. I have not had a bad experience with any of my professors. I also feel that it is very unique because it is so convenient for anyone. Whether you are working full time or have children, education is still at your reach. They have a lot of different classes during the day, they also have night classes, and online classes to accommodate any student's schedule. Gateway is also unique because it is very affordable and has great two year programs.

At Gateway Community and Technical College, the network is great. The computers are very fast and can save a lot of time on doing research. I prefer to finish my homework there because the network is faster there than at my house.

Printing is free, that is a major advantage. However, some students take too much advantage of this and the printers will be out of paper or ink periodically. Sometimes classes are held in the computer labs and the libraries get filled. The network is pretty reliable and the internet speed is good, wifi is available at all campuses. If you have access to a laptop and plan to be on the internet a lot I would suggest using it. Otherwise I would suggest investing in a flashdrive because saving is tricky and you can't access files saved at different campuses. I'm giving it an A- rating because if you are a person who has no other access to a computer or internet outside of school it can be dificult at times.

I have been very impressed with the online courses at Gateway. In addition to the conveinence they have been more rigiorus than in person classes. They are also much more predictable as far as the workload and due dates for assignments. Peer-to-peer interaction is much higher than I had expected. I enjoy being able to read everyone else's posts. Seeing other student's ideas gives you insight and new ways of looking at certain topics that you may have not thought of otherwise. Students don't usually express such in depth opinions in the classroom setting.

I am a Psychology major currently earning my AS. The classes that I have taken are of high quality and have been very enjoyable. My only complaint would be the lack of more variety in my area of interest. I have taken both Psychology classes offered and I would have liked the opportunity to take more. They do offer other social sciences which I have also taken but so many of them are intro classes that it has become a bit redundant.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education is well worth the price of tuition. Gateway offers many workshops and other forms of help for students in order to walk them through the financial aid process. I'm only giving them an A- because these resources are available but still not so easy for all students to utilize. They also are less prevalent in the areas with the greatest need. However, this problem is currently in the process of being remedied.
