Tuition & Financial Aid:
The prices at my school are affordable. I have attended other schools online which cost way to much.

The student body is very diverse. Mostly working adults, about 20% form high school and a group of older adults.

I've attended a 4 year school and the current 2 year school I'm in now. I've had nothing but good experiences at my 2 year school. I feel like I get a lot more attention from my teachers than I did at my 4 year school. The size of the classes help and make it easier to get the 1 on 1 help needed if it's necessary. I would encourage everyone to start at a 2 year college before moving on to a 4 year because of the possible loss of interest because of the frustration that can come with the first 2 years.

As an IT student I've encountered nothing but good things dealing with the computer lab and other resources that are associated with anything needed that involves IT.
College Junior 2013-08-29T15:07:12Z
All resources are available to anyone as needed. Nothing has ever come up for me where there wasn't anything I needed but couldn't do.
College Junior 2013-08-29T15:06:10Z
Good for what is needed. This isn't a 4 year school by any means and there are no athletic teams. Library, student center and campus activities are all available and made to accommodate all who need or want them.

The application process is a breeze and they really make it easy to plan your classes as they are basically already written out with the exception you can substitute similar classes based upon your interested, but within your academic program.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I am currently looking forward to starting my first semester in the spring at our communities Technical College. Although I cannot comment on the financial aid through gateway, I have been to college before and was quite disappointed.
I worked very hard in high school and got my GPA up to a 3.8 from a 2.4. I applied and received scholarships and applied for financial aid. it may have been a poor school choice but I chose an expensive liberal arts college. Actually, it was one of the least expensive art schools I found but still at a whopping $27,000 a year (when I would be lucky to make that amount annually as an artist) the most in grants I could scoop up was $3,000 in my first school.
That amount wouldn't even pay for my housing yet alone credits ($550 a piece). So I used it to buy books for the semester and it was gone. I eventually had to drop out in my Fall semester of the beginning of my Junior year.
Having dropped out I needed to find a job, which I did, and I have been working dead end jobs since. I am finally going back to school 3 years after I dropped out to finish something. I am very excited and pleased to know that my estimated grant through the school could help me pay for half of the semester and some books.
A value that I will feel good about and be able to finally finish my studies. In the end, the application process and financial aid paperwork I find very approachable, while I think that individual schools could do a better job to keep costs reasonable and streamline the acceptance process of receiving financial aid for their students.

It's hard to get to from bus lines. I really enjoy the internet classes. The higher expense of an on-line class can be prohibitive.

They have cheap access to a health club and use of other technical facilities for personal use. Like the cooking classes create a lunch room dining experience. You can get beauty shop your hair and nails done at a greatly reduced price from students.

They have access to a lot of internships which help with on the job training. They make it easier to transition to the work place.

It's difficult to sign into the wireless network on campus. They have generic computers set up in case you don't have your own.

Not sure what free programs are available but I love the school. It's on a very peaceful setting. The classroom size is smaller which means more one on one time. They are supper helpful in doing projects and setting up fairs. Also the chance for internships in great for more experience before joining the work force.

I really like the school. I wish it was easier to get help from the financial aid officers. I need help with scholarships and there is no help available.

The library hours are set so you can have plenty of time to study and the staff is very helpful.

It takes dedication for the on-line classes, when you work on it everyday all the assignments will get done.

When I get this grade, it means that I have worked real hard and have turned everything in to earn this grade.

The campus is beautiful. There are so many different landscaping designs. There is a farm where we raise vegetables and sell them at our farm stand on campus during the spring and summer. We also run a stand at our local farmers market. There are some great clubs and activities to participate in.

My school has two different facilities to help serve us better. One facility is set up specifically for transportation including automotive, diesel, and aviation maintenance. Gateway has pilot courses and trucker school as well as motorcycle driving courses. The other facility offers nursing, bio-technology, horticulture and a bunch of other options.

All of the instructors I have been in contact with are will to meet with students one on one to help with any difficulties and are interested in helping you succeed. They have very convenient office hours. Any time I have email my instructors they have gotten back to me in an extremely timely manner. The class registration process is very simple and the staff is willing to help you and take you through the process step by step. Gateway offers a wide variety of programs.

Gateway offers computer labs for students to use as well as the student support center. The network has good reliability as well as wireless access but the speed could be improved. Gateway provides students with $10 worth of credits in order to print class material every semester.

I am a horticulture major. Most of my classes have been hands on and the curriculum is set up to prepare you for the working world. The workload is difficult at times but rewarding. I like that you are able to chose how many classes you want a semester and in what order you can take them. The facilities are a comfortable mix of new and old. The 'head house' is older but the Pike creek center in new and modern. There are many job opportunities available. Many local businesses hire gateway graduates.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
