| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The Career Development office offers many tools for pursuing goals, such as booklets, career placement tests, an online JobLink, and general information. The staff eagerly assists students, and freshman year isn’t too early to go talk to them about your direction. The center is very helpful in crafting a resume, offering scads of sample resumes and revising your resume as many times as you want to bring it in. Unfortunately, they lack the resources to connect students with internships, especially in the liberal arts, and alumni connections are limited. The office has myriad resources to employ, and the workers will give you every help they can, but the career research falls on you. Your professors or academic adviser can often provide more specific advice or connections.

- Most Geneva jobs pay the Pennsylvania minimum wage, with some notable exceptions such as TAs (teaching assistants), residential staff, and GCSU (Geneva College Student Union).
- Geneva also offers some "as needed" jobs, such as banquet workers, who only work a day here and there.
- Some on-campus jobs are skill-specific. For instance, the Pendragon Writing Center hires qualified students who have taken the tutoring writing class.
- Jobs like Information Desk or Fitness Center attendants basically entail getting paid to sit at a desk and do homework.
