Geneva calls itself a family. The encouragement members receive from their peers, professors, and the campus staff engenders a tight-knit campus community, intertwined with the Christian atmosphere that pervades the campus. The Geneva family includes every variety of student: lifelong church kids, nontraditionals with pasts, artsy kids, athletes, techies, video game junkies, religious dogmatists, preps, punks—they’re all here, side by side in the dining hall or helping each other with schoolwork. Professors are colleagues in learning, who cultivate personal relationships and strive for each student’s personal best.
Geneva College is a Christian institution affiliated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church, and that spurs some religiously influenced policies that rub students the wrong way, such as mandatory chapels and certain residential policies. However, overall, Geneva is a great place to live and grow academically, spiritually, and socially—and have a shot at the best four years of your life. The Geneva experience is as great as you make it. Get involved—join a club, participate in student activities, talk theology at BFCAT (Beaver Falls Coffee and Tea), get published in the student newspaper or literary magazine, continue a tradition, start a new one, serve downtown, or perform at MGN ("My Generation Night"). If you seek strong academics, spiritual growth, and vibrant community life, Geneva is seeking you.
