Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Welcome to Western Pennsylvania, folks. While the rumors that Beaver Falls is the second rainiest city in the United States are unconfirmed, a glance out the window will tell you it’s not unlikely. Beaver Falls gets a lot of rain and a lot of overcast days, and in the winter, the town gets a lot of snow. At times, the sun hides for days at a time, and it does wear on students’ moods. For those days, get a chocolate bar and some good friends. Winters are bitter and long, with snow and wind from November until March, usually with at least one good blizzard—and classes are rarely canceled.

When the sun does break through, though, it’s a beautiful thing. The leaves are green, the flowers bloom bright, and the students turn out in droves to do homework or socialize in the courtyard, on the grass, or at the tire swing. In autumn, the hillside across the river bursts with color. Even the bitter winds of winter have their charms, like snowman-building competitions or a soft snowy twilight outside McCartney Library. Welcome to Western Pennsylvania—some can’t stand it; some can’t stand to leave.

Seriously, Rain Again?

Beaver Falls is notorious for having a large amount of rainfall, making the lawn incredibly muddy. However, winters are usually fairly gentle, and snowfall is not very heavy.

Decent Weather

It is pretty nice hear on campus. Especially during the fall and spring months. Winter isn't great. It snows alot and they aren't very quick to keep the sidewalks clear but they do their best.
