For being a real estate company with deep pockets and a large tuition, GW doesn't help me out all that much.
College Freshman 2013-11-29T21:51:02Z
Greek life isn't a big part of GW, but it is there if you want to participate.

I love my school. I'm blessed to be in such an amazing city at such a great school. I have so many opportunities and I'm so happy to be here!

Being in a city (especially with so many colleges around), there's definitely someplace to go when you want to "go out." If you don't want to go to a club or bar, there are also parties at the frats, dorms, and sports houses.

There's not an overwhelming school spirit, but the Colonial Army is big for anyone who's into that sort of stuff. The gyms are pretty great and in West Hall it's rarely crowded, which is nice. There are a lot of club sports also.

DC is expensive in general, but GWorld has tons of off-campus options. Carvings is popular for late-night food but there's other options as well. Living in such a diverse city ensures tons of delicious and different options. You can find something for any mood you're in.

DC has pretty moderate weather.

GW is the most politically active school in the nation, so expect to hear/participate in some debates. However, most people won't judge you solely on your political beliefs. In regards to race, religion, sexual orientation, et cetera, GW is super accepting and nonjudgemental and there's probably a student org for anything you want. I've also heard that the Multicultural Student Services is very helpful and friendly.

It's DC. What more could you ask for?
College Freshman 2013-11-25T00:36:43Z
GW has very nice dorms compared to almost any other college. Foggy Bottom is a great neighborhood. Dorms are relatively large and even nicer on the Vern. As much as some people complain, we have it pretty nice compared to other colleges.

You don't need a car. Don't bring one. Bring a bike if you want, but it's not necessary at all. It's the city, so parking is expensive and tough to find on campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T00:34:24Z
Classes are difficult, as they should be, but not unmanageable. Like at any college, time management is key. Internships are practically everywhere and it's rare if you don't come out of GW without a couple (with one being on the Hill).
College Freshman 2013-11-25T00:34:24Z
There's a mix of great and not-so-great professors. Registration isn't terrible if you plan ahead and know what you need/want. Workload is manageable if you use your time wisely.

The Vex is very reliable and clean, and the drivers are very friendly. I've rarely spent more that 20 minute on there (in the worst of traffic). It only runs every 15 minutes on the weekends, which can be annoying, but it's not a huge deal.
College Freshman 2013-11-25T00:29:37Z
They're there if you want them, but you don't have to take part. You aren't looked at any differently if you don't want to participate.

I really feel for the athletes because we have some AWESOME teams, but everyone here is so into their politics and other stuff

Guys & Girls:
Reviewing dating is weird because it's so subjective- it all depends on your friends, the people you hang around and the groups you're a part of
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:15:16Z
Honestly, as long as you're not disturbing the neighbors or making an idiot of yourself, don't worry
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:13:55Z
DC is the best place in the world to be- there's literally something here for everyone
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:13:12Z
We're in the middle of downtown DC- there's pretty much no such thing as parking
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:12:29Z
GW is definitely the best school in the world if you're into politics/international affairs/journalism. People are really dedicated to what they want to do here and there's a group for everyone
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:11:38Z
Transportation between the Mount Vernon (the Vern) campus and Foggy Bottom is really easy, and then DC itself has great transit to get from campus to any internship/job
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:10:45Z
It can get very expensive very fast, but it's great living on campus and is really easy- only guaranteed your first two years though
College Junior 2013-11-24T19:09:44Z
The best part about being Greek at GW is that you can be social or professional- we have tons of professional sororities like PAD (pre-law) and DEM (pre-med) or DPE the foreign service sorority

Hard to party with non greeks
