Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

In the area surrounding GW’s campus, there are several convenient and casual restaurants including Chipotle, Cosi, and T.G.I. Friday’s. There are also dozens of places that accept Colonial Cash. Many different kinds of tasty food can be found at restaurants in Georgetown and Dupont Circle. Filomena, in Georgetown, offers homemade pastas and other delicious Italian food. Levante’s is great for Middle Eastern cuisine. The Daily Grill on Connecticut Avenueoffers fresh meats, fish, and pastas. Penang, in Dupont, serves delicious Malaysian cuisine. Georgetown offers an eclectic mix of American, Chinese, French, Indian, Vietnamese, and other cuisine. A fun place for late-night weekend eats is Kramerbooks and Afterwords, a 24-hour coffee shop and bookstore that serves desserts as well as entrees late into the night. Other than K&A, however, late-night eating options are definitely lacking on and around campus.

Washington’s restaurant scene only adds to GW’s exceptional local atmosphere. For students without a meal plan, outside restaurants are just as convenient as on-campus options. Most students who live off-campus go out to lunch and dinner or order in pretty regularly, while those who are on a meal plan usually eat at restaurants where they can use their meal plan during the week and venture off-campus on the weekend. Restaurants may be expensive, but with so many choices, everyone is sure to find a local favorite.

Georgetown has a lot of great restaurants. Some of my favorites include Filomena for pasta Bourban for steak and Baked and Wired for dessert.

Good Places Nearby.

Good to eat out when you finally get tired of j street food. Can be a bit pricey depending on where you go.

Eat Here. Eat There

Expensive but lots of options. Pizza, burgers, and ethnic food are a favorite. Not really alternatives "on campus".
