College Prowler Take
It is difficult to get much of a consensus on the quality of Georgetown’s facilities. Athletic Hoyas decry the outdated state of the main campus gym but admit that it gets the job done. Participants in the Corp praise their offices and retail spaces, and performing arts groups are appeased by their ample space in the new Davis Center. Despite Georgetown’s relatively low endowment, as compared to many of its peer universities, the University is currently working hard to improve facilities in many different disciplines. There is a new building on campus that houses all of the business classes, and a new building devoted to science and math is currently in the works. The few problems with facilities on campus should not cause potential students to quake in their boots—it is never wise to base one’s college decision on the quality of the gym or the prospect of having antique Italian furniture in one’s dorm room. Georgetown is working hard to improve many of the campus facilities.

They're nice and available, but the buildings are kind of old. The equipment is relatively new, at least in the athletic facilities.

The dining hall sucks—the food, not necessarily the place. The gym is fabulous. The campus is quite small in comparison to other places. There are libraries you can work in, or you can work in classrooms and lounges. I love the coffee joints; they are marvelous. One of the most popular hangouts is the second floor of the library: it's not a quiet section by any means and it is right next to the coffee shop.

The library is pretty nice. There aren't enough group study spaces, but in general it's a great library, especially with the coffee shop in there. The student center is okay, but there isn't much there.

The facilities at Georgetown are...
The facilities at Georgetown are decent. Yates Field House is a nice gym that offers pretty much everything, including lots of intramural sports. The classes, however, recently went from being free to costing quite a bit of money, even though a Yates gym fee is included in tuition. Lauinger Library has wonderful collections but is much too small for a student body as large as Georgetown's—study space is limited. Quiet study space overall is rather limited on campus.

FactsWhat To Do on Campus
In between classes you can break a sweat in the gym, cool off in the pool, take in a play, join in pick-up sports, or grab a bite to eat, all without ever leaving campus.
Favorite Things To Do
Georgetown students love to stay very active. They do anything and everything in their free time, from working out at Yates to playing pick-up games of soccer or Frisbee. Some students even like to set up their own volleyball net on Copley Lawn and play. Otherwise, students enjoy catching the current play on campus, watching the free movies on the weekends, or attending one of the lectures by the hundreds of awesome speakers who visit Georgetown each year. There is never a shortage of fun things to do on campus.
