Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are more than 100 restaurants within a 20-minute walk from campus, and you’d be hard-pressed to find many students who have bad things to say about more than two or three of them. In terms of price, speed, ethnicity, formality, and clientele, there exists a nearly indescribable variety of eateries. From the famed and beloved Tombs and Wisemiller’s to the upscale Italian and French bistros on M Street, the options are staggering. Little surprise that Hoyas report one of their favorite traditions is to go out to dinner on the dime of visiting parents whenever possible.

The Georgetown neighborhood is prime for a night out, and greasy college food can be found right on Wisconsin at Five Guys or the classic Georgetown restaurant, Wingo's. It's difficult to find a Georgetown student who does not absolutely love the food options around campus.

Easy but Pricey

Lots of restaurant and take out options. Most are great but a little expensive.

Sandwiches, Burritos and Burgers... Oh My!

There's a LOT of options around campus, and the thing that's helpful is that most of these locations take GOCard money (the student ID card that's needed for access to dorms, meal plans, etc.). Wisey's has fantastic sandwiches (especially the Chicken Madness), Q'doba offers half price dinner on Mondays, Chipotle gives Georgetown students a free drink with every meal, and Five Guys is open until 4 AM (!!) on weekends. Wingo's has great chicken wings and fingers, and Kitchen No. 1 provides the quintessential Chinese food.

Absolutely Amazing...If You Have Money

Georgetown is located just minutes from the cutesy, bustling shopping district of M Street and Wisconsin Avenue. There are lots of adorable restaurants, ranging from Crepe Amour to Sweetgreen (salads and fro-yo), from student favorites like Wisey's and the Tombs to fancier places like 1789. A mealtime trip to M Street can be a really fun break from Leo's, but if you're a broke student with rich friends like me, it can be a bit exasperating, because anything interesting is not really in a poor kid's budget.
