A major advantage of Georgia College and State University is the small class sizes, boasting a 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. With this, professors are able to give more of their time to each student; professors will know you by name instead of simply your student ID number. All professors have office hours in which you can stop by and ask questions or ask for advice on classes. GCSU prides itself in having professors who love what they are doing, with nearly 80 percent of these professors having Ph.D.s from top universities. There are four colleges—arts and sciences, business, education, and health sciences—with more than 40 majors within the four.
GCSU also offers double majors, dual degrees, honors programs, internships, and evening courses. The pre-professional programs offered are: pre-law, pre-medicine, pre-veterinary science, pre-pharmacy, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-forestry, pre-engineering, pre-occupational therapy, pre-physical therapy, and pre-physician assistant. Several graduate programs are offered, as well. At Georgia College and State University, you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind learning experience with professors who want nothing more than to see you succeed in the classroom and the real world.
