After freshman year, most students move off campus, generally to an apartment complex. Apartments offer more space than the dorms, and you are not required to buy a meal plan. Rent for apartments is all pretty similar, with some being more affordable than others and others being more expensive than expected. The plus side to apartment complexes in Milledgeville is that most of them come completely furnished, including appliances. However, if you are one with plenty of spare furniture at home, renting a house may be a better option for you.
Houses offer even more space with generally lower rent. You are almost guaranteed to find housing off campus, but if your heart is set on living somewhere specific, then you better sign a lease early because chances are someone else has their heart set on it, as well. Students are able to walk to campus from almost every apartment complex, and there are plenty of houses within walking distance, too.
