Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

It is true that many Tech students might sometimes wish that they had chosen another, less demanding school for college. Georgia Tech is very academically demanding, to an extreme that alienates many students and parents. Many see the school as a sort of “proving ground” for professional life.

However, the size of the student body is not overly large, and it is easy for one to get involved socially and academically without straining your GPA. The rigorousness of academic life at Georgia Tech instills a rare motivation in the students there that will prepare them well for professional life. Most students feel that an education at Tech was worth all the work.

Mechanical Engineering.

The ME school at Georgia Tech is the largest engineering school here. Because of that, lots of money has been investing in it and there are lots of awesome opportunities that are available to students. After the first year or two, you begin to come familiar with people in your classes and build community.

Parking: Be Careful.

Parking on campus can be a pain. Permits are very expensive (it is downtown Atlanta). With permits, parking is very convenient and simple. Visitor parking can also be frustrating as only certain parking areas open up on nights and weekends.

GT Campus

I love the Georgia Tech campus. I love being in downtown Atlanta, but being separated at the same time. Campus is a good size, not too small, and not too big. The campus facilities are top notch. The Campus Rec Center is fantastic; there's plenty of equipment and space to work out and exercise. The new CULC building provides students with plenty of studying space when combined with the library and other numerous study rooms around campus.
