College Prowler Take

While the dining halls are definitely no place to take a date, or anyone for that matter, to have a nice meal, they are adequate for everyday use. Georgia Tech is served by two dining halls, Brittain and Woodruff, which are located at opposite ends of the campus. The quality of the food has improved steadily over the last five years. Breakfast food is always your best bet at these dining halls, and students are free to make their own sandwiches and salads at the salad bar, if they choose to do so.

For a satisfying lunch or breakfast with a professor, friend, coworker, or anyone else, there are always two choices on campus: the Student Center Commons and the Student Center Food Court. Both the Student Center Commons and Food Court offer an exceptional variety of choices for lunch, including Chick-fil-A, Burger King, Jackets, and even a Starbucks.

Its okay. The food can get tiring after awhile, and sometimes the dining hall tries to cater too much to different ethnicities. They repeat meals every couple of weeks, but they do have a cereal, pasta, and salad bar that helps when you don't love the main course.

It is pretty diverse and ok quality. They are getting better at offering more choices such as vegetarian/vegan. The problem is that all the places close really early so you have limited choices at certain times. Also, some of the food can be kind of expensive.

The food is not that great,...

The food is not that great, honestly. The two dining halls on campus provide pretty limited options, and the choices get old very quickly. The student center has a food court and a few other restaurants that add some variety, but you can't use those with your freshman meal plan. Einstein's has pretty good sandwiches, including breakfast bagels all day. Junior's is definitely the place to go if you're hungry. The burger basket is the best deal on campus.

I've been pretty satisfied overall with the food on campus. The dining hall has a ton of variety, but students do tend to get tired of it after a few months. There are kitchens in all of the dorms, so you can cook with a few friends every once in a while, too.

I had a food plan for freshman...

I had a food plan for freshman year, and it was nice to drop by between classes. Of course, it gets old after a while, but it's just too expensive to go off campus to eat all the time. Lots of places, especially in Midtown, accept our campus ID Cards (Buzz Cards) for money, and that helps to cut the burden of always eating out. The dining halls pleasantly surprise you sometimes, and other times it's hard to find something to satisfy your taste.
