Georgia Tech has many traditions among the student body, and many of them somehow involve breaking the rules on campus. If you get caught "stealing the T" (the massive first letter of the word "TECH" on the school's main administrative building, Tech Tower), expect the wrath of the entire world to come down upon you. The average fraternity party, however, is of much less concern to the campus authorities. Remember, Tech is in the middle of a big city, so those in power are often more concerned with serious crimes such as rape and assault befalling its students.

Many believe that campus police will allow a certain level of underage drinking, simply because they realize they can't completely stop it. If you practice common sense and good judgment, it is relatively easy to stay out of trouble and enjoy a good Tech experience.
