Georgia Tech has many traditions among the student body, and many of them somehow involve breaking the rules on campus. If you get caught “stealing the T” (the massive first letter of the word “TECH” on the school’s main administrative building, Tech Tower), expect the wrath of the entire world to come down upon you. The average fraternity party, however, is of much less concern to the campus authorities. Remember, Tech is in the middle of a big city, so those in power are often more concerned with serious crimes such as rape and assault befalling its students.

Many believe that campus police will allow a certain level of underage drinking, simply because they realize they can’t completely stop it. If you practice common sense and good judgment, it is relatively easy to stay out of trouble and enjoy a good Tech experience.

Pretty Good

Campus police are usually pretty cool. You can talk to them and they'll be nice and explain things to you, tell you where things are, or just talk. They can be a little on edge after a rash of crimes have been committed around campus, but overall they're not too bad. They don't really nose around for drunk students, so just don't be stupid and wonder into traffic or something.

Not Too Strict

Our campus is pretty fair about student Code of Conduct violations, though the administration began a sever crackdown on the removal of the 'T's on campus.

Strictness

Around campus, police are very strict on parking, but more lazy about drinking. They also try to be very aware of crime on campus, even if they aren't extremely effective.
