Not a Huge Part of the School

While it does take part in much of the social life, Greek life does not influence too much, at least for me. As a non-Greek, I enjoy social life with my friends our own way and do not feel "jealous" or not-as-happy due to what happens in Greek events. Because Greek life is not that big in Tech, many of their events are open to the campus. You could say Greek life somewhat succumbs to the general Tech population.

I have had the best experience possible with greek life. Rushing was not too stressful and almost everyone finds a place for them if they want to. Frat parties are great with tons of free alcohol, like legit bar tenders making you professional drinks.

How to Buy Friends and Alienate People

It's sad when the best thing you can say about greek life is free booze because that is really all that it is. When you go to greek parties or something like that all you see is booze, no dancing just booze. It's nothing all that great when you take all things into consideration but in the end even the fraternity brothers don't like each other. They tend to talk trash behind each others backs and about each other and each fraternity has their own stereotypes which they take pride in. The alcoholic fraternity, the fraternity of douchebags, the video game fraternity, the hard drugs fraternity, the rich white fraternity, the racist fraternity and so forth. After a little while, it becomes cliques that you pay for and use to alienate other people that you are with. Sure greek life gets you some places and can help you on occasion but as I see it only on occasion.
