College Prowler Take

It is true that many Tech students might sometimes wish that they had chosen another, less demanding school for college. Georgia Tech is very academically demanding, to an extreme that alienates many students and parents. Many see the school as a sort of “proving ground” for professional life.

However, the size of the student body is not overly large, and it is easy for one to get involved socially and academically without straining your GPA. The rigorousness of academic life at Georgia Tech instills a rare motivation in the students there that will prepare them well for professional life. Most students feel that an education at Tech was worth all the work.

Georgia Tech is all the sweat of a top 20 school with half the glory. Required science classes can get hard, as can Tech's combined Calc/Lin Alg classes. English and any entry social science is a joke at Tech, and easy to make a B in if one elects not to show. Don't aim too high, incomers.

I’ll be proud of my five-year degree! And yes, it usually takes five years to get out.

I wanted to go to Tech since I was in fourth grade. I love it, and there is nowhere else that I’d rather be. The people are very intelligent and competent. The students are supportive of each other, yet it is still a competitive atmosphere. I have full faith that I am earning a quality degree. After being at Tech, I’ve learned the skills I will need in the work force and in life. After Tech, basically everything else is easy. In addition, it’s cool to say ‘I go to Tech.’ You get the ‘Oh, wow!’ response, and I love that!

My overall experience of school has been great. It is a lot of work. I’ve made a ton of great friends here, and I don’t wish I went anywhere else. I’m glad I went here because so many people here are just like me. If you’re looking for a super-duper social life, then I wouldn’t recommend Tech.

If you choose to go to Tech, you really have to know how to budget your time. You definitely have to have your priorities straight when it comes to Tech or any school. It’s all about time management. I need to focus on raising my GPA. Tech is quite possibly the best school I could’ve found. I looked around a lot, but nothing is quite like it. I, for one, love living in the middle of the city, and campus really is in the heart of downtown Atlanta. There is more to do than most have time for, including on-campus activities and things in the city, as well. As for school life, during the week, it is pretty strenuous work, but on the weekends, I would have to say that Tech is one of the greatest party schools in the Southeast, if not one of the greatest in the country.
