Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is a series of trains and buses that runs through Atlanta (on lines that run north and south, and east and west). MARTA is the most popular form of long-distance transportation for students. There are multiple stops convenient to campus, and it runs early in the morning into the late-evening hours. It's relatively inexpensive, and students that ride on a regular basis can buy a discounted monthly pass through the school.

While the University doesn't offer any long-distance transportation, there are several Panther Express shuttle buses that drive to and from the dorms, to various classroom buildings around campus, and to Turner Field (where free student parking is available). There are lots of non-school affiliated, paid parking lots and decks around campus, but those that prefer a school deck pay around $300 per semester for a pass. Cabs and the like aren't very popular, as most take MARTA or their own cars to get around the city.
