Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

For the first year of your career at Gettysburg, you will eat at Servo. Almost always. The consensus at G’burg agrees on two things: 1) the food here is better than at the majority of other colleges, and 2) chances are, your tastebuds will not be disappointed. The importance of food quality at a college is something that’s easy to overlook when deciding where to go, but something that really should be a crucial element of a student’s selection process. At a small school with few dining options, not liking the food can really (and quite literally) sour the entire college experience.

At Gettysburg, food is not a problem. The quality, and to an extent the selection, tends to be quite good, with occasional peaks of delicious. Of course, while Servo is the main dining establishment, two other options exist. Ike’s, despite the sometimes inconvenient hours, provides the key option of Mexican dining, while the Bullet Hole represents Gettysburg’s fast food alternative. The subs are made to order, and there are almost always two soups of the day and an entrée if you prefer something hot. The Bullet Hole is very popular among students on the go, and it allows you to either use meals from your card or spend dollars that are added as part of your meal plan.

Variety and Quality

There is a multitude of dining options and great variety of food. The menu changes daily, especially at Servo (the dining hall). There is always a salad, yogurt, vegetarian, and sandwich bar, as well as different section that serve everything from burgers and fries to salmon and risotto. The food is yummy, and unless your unreasonably picky, you should be able to find something for you.

Servo Is Delicious

Our main campus dining area is called Servo, and it has been rated top ten in the country by the princeton review multiple times. There numerous choices and the quality of the food is excellent. If you don't want to eat there you can eat at other on campus options that are included in the meal plan.

Food Options

there are four places to eat on campus: Servo, the Dive, Bullet Hole, Ike's, and the pizza place.

servo is the main dining facility and serves many different types of food ranging from swordfish steaks to pizza. the school is constantly trying to stay within the top 20 in dining services.

the dive is a smoothie shop inside the athletic center and serves some of the best foods but you are limited to cash and dinning dollars.

the bullet hole is a sub shop like subway in that you can make your own sub either 6" or 12". unlike the bullet hole you can exchange one of your meals from servo for a meal at bullet or you can use dining dollars.

Ike's is an Italian restaurant that serves pizza pasta etc. you can use dining dollars or cash.

the pizza place is not a part of the schools dining services however it is still on campus grounds. it is the most popular place to eat late at night the food is decent but expensive.
