College Prowler Take
Gettysburg’s unofficial and evasive stance on drugs and alcohol on campus seems to be an indicator that they are here to stay. There does, however, seem to be an internal commitment to keep the College’s negative publicity to a minimum. Campus strictness is appropriately severe. If you are smart about bending the rules, you will likely not suffer any consequences for your mild civil disobediences. However, if you push the limits, you will probably find that what comes around goes around. It is not difficult to skirt by the Man at G’burg. Close your door when you are doing something you shouldn’t be, and if you don’t do anything to arouse suspicion, then you won’t be bothered.

There are ways to get around them, but they are definitely there. The campus police will bust you for drinking in the room. However, if you are not yelling or being obnoxious walking from frat to frat, they don't really get in your way. But points suck, and they rack up quickly.

DPS does a good job of regulating drinking, especially in the freshman dorms. The policies are not terribly strict, and it is definitely possible to drink without getting caught as long as you are careful, but my suggestion would be to just not drink in the dorms, because chances are you will get caught if you keep doing it.

Gettysburg's drug and alcohol...
Gettysburg's drug and alcohol policy is a joke. We work on a point system with ten points meaning you're kicked out of school. Getting caught drinking is one point, smoking weed four points, and so on and so forth. The only time you really need to worry about getting points is freshman year when you're supposedly living in "dry" dorms. But as long as you keep things quiet and discreet, you're going to be fine.
