Gettysburg College - Campus Strictness - Student ReviewsCollege Prowler3.46
Comparable Schools' Campus Strictness Grades:
Quick StatsStudents Are Most Likely to Get Caught...
- Having candles and incense sticks in your dorm
- Making too much noise in your dorm
- Running stop signs
- Drinking underage
Gettysburg’s unofficial and evasive stance on drugs and alcohol on campus seems to be an indicator that they are here to stay. There does, however, seem to be an internal commitment to keep the College’s negative publicity to a minimum. Campus strictness is appropriately severe. If you are smart about bending the rules, you will likely not suffer any consequences for your mild civil disobediences. However, if you push the limits, you will probably find that what comes around goes around. It is not difficult to skirt by the Man at G’burg. Close your door when you are doing something you shouldn’t be, and if you don’t do anything to arouse suspicion, then you won’t be bothered.

Strictness on Campus
B-
The campus police is not as strict as it should be on underage drinking and drug use. The school has a point system in which tallies how students violate the rules. They send students to counseling for alcohol abuse and drug abuse after they reach ten points. However, repeated offenders are put out. Plagiarism is a capital offense here, and will result in expulsion. |

There are ways to get around them, but they are definitely there. The campus police will bust you for drinking in the room. However, if you are not yelling or being obnoxious walking from frat to frat, they don't really get in your way. But points suck, and they rack up quickly. |

DPS does a good job of regulating drinking, especially in the freshman dorms. The policies are not terribly strict, and it is definitely possible to drink without getting caught as long as you are careful, but my suggestion would be to just not drink in the dorms, because chances are you will get caught if you keep doing it. |
