Your impression of the quality of Gettysburg facilities depends almost entirely on where you happen to be on campus. While some areas are recently renovated and are very clean and modern, other areas have yet to receive the same treatment and are quite unpleasant. The school has accepted so many students in the past few years that they have basically run out of conventional housing. The College has been scrambling to buy up local motels, which can be quickly converted into student living areas. Fortunately, the school has plans to renovate or improve most of the remaining areas on campus in the future. Athletic facilities, including the Bream-Wright-Hauser athletic complex, Musselman Stadium, and the soccer pitches are all nice enough, and a new athletic complex has been designed and construction has already begun.
Gettysburg is also renovating the historic Majestic Theater, which until a few years ago served as the town's local cinema. The school bought it and engaged in a $12 million renovation that has expanded the lobby and adjoining facilities, and added a smaller theater in addition to the large screen for use in showing movies, lectures, concerts, plays, and other educational programs.
