The sheer number of dining establishments in Gettysburg is staggering, particularly when you consider that for half the year it is a town of only 8,000 people. It’s less staggering when you consider that, for the other half of the year, the population is many times larger than that. Even so, it means that there are myriad of food options if and when you get sick of Servo and Bullet Hole.

The Dobbin House is the place to go when your folks are paying, and the rest of the time can be split fairly evenly between the less expensive restaurants in town, including the Pub, Mama V’s, and many others. There are, of course, the requisite fast food places, as well as a good amount of Chinese restaurants and pizzerias, most of whom offer delivery service. As a general rule, there is a place to suit every taste in Gettysburg.

Few, but Conveniant

You can walk to pretty much every restaurant in town, and it would be a short car ride to any that are just a tiny bit too far to walk to. Although you don't have a large variety, you have a least one of many styles of restaurants. There's a diner, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Tai, Frech, Irish, an other such places. They're not expensive, and places like the diner are open 24/7. The main problem is that you'll find all the different places, decide which two or three you like, and go only to those ones, so the options run thin pretty quickly

Lots of Variety

A lot of the food you need is found on campus, but if you're looking for a late night meal, a great solution is to go to Lincoln Diner (LDs). It is open 24/7 and is very inexpensive. If you're looking for a good meal during the day, The Pub on the circle is popular, but a little more expensive. It is a great place to take parents for their first time in Gettysburg. The school has a discount program where you can receive between 10-15% off at local coffee shops, ice cream shops and small businesses and hotels. There is also a grocery store within walking distance. Another option is to use the Transit system, which students can ride for free with their student ID, and you can go to the Outlets, Walmart, and other shopping centers.

Flats

The college just bought a new off-campus restaurant very close to campus, but in town called Flats. It is a flatbread pizza, quesadilla and salad place that has awesome food made very quickly! The college also accomodated for delining dollars (part of the meal plans) to be accepted at Flats with cash or card.
