College Prowler Take

The sheer number of dining establishments in Gettysburg is staggering, particularly when you consider that for half the year it is a town of only 8,000 people. It’s less staggering when you consider that, for the other half of the year, the population is many times larger than that. Even so, it means that there are myriad of food options if and when you get sick of Servo and Bullet Hole.

The Dobbin House is the place to go when your folks are paying, and the rest of the time can be split fairly evenly between the less expensive restaurants in town, including the Pub, Mama V’s, and many others. There are, of course, the requisite fast food places, as well as a good amount of Chinese restaurants and pizzerias, most of whom offer delivery service. As a general rule, there is a place to suit every taste in Gettysburg.

Bella Italia in town is amazing....

Bella Italia in town is amazing. The Pub on the circle is really good, too, and there is also The Green Parrot, Mama Ventura's, and The Ragged Edge (coffee and sandwiches). There are a lot of good places to eat in town, but the food on camnpus is good, too, and we basically already paid for it.

The school owns two small...

The school owns two small restuarants that are in the College Union Building. Within walking distance is a pizzeria called Pizza House. It is convenient because it is open until 1 a.m., but the pizza is not of the best quality; however, for the price and the convenience, it is worth it. There is a Dominos in town that will deliver, but they charge a lot of money. There are also several large restuarants that are about a 10- or 15-minute walk into the town, and they have pretty good food.

There are tons of awesome...

There are tons of awesome restaurants around Gettysburg...thank you tourists! LDs is a late night/brunch choice of many college students. It definitely kills those hangovers really quickly. Ping´s is awesome for sushi and Chinese food. Pizza House and Roman Inn are open late and have amazing pizza. La Bella's is awesome for Italian. There are really nice restaurants, too, if you´re looking for a place to eat with parents. Check out Blue Parrot, Dobbin House, and Gingerbread Man, just to name a few.

There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance as long as you like American or Italian. The Pub and La Bellas are popular. I personally like the Gingerbread Man.
