Over the past few years, Gonzaga’s facilities have improved immensely, benefitting from the tidal wave of money that has engulfed the University. Since the majority of it has come from the glory on the basketball court, it is not surprising that athletic-related facilities are the newest, shiniest, and most high-tech. The Rudolf Fitness Center is stellar, sporting a plethora of new machines in a clean, warmly-lit environment. Likewise, the McCarthey Athletic Center is state-of-the-art and beautiful. For those desiring mental workouts, the Foley Center Library provides a pleasant studying environment with desks, couches, and panoramic tinted windows.
The Crosby Student Center is the focal point of campus life during the day. Students congregate between classes to check mail, get coffee, attempt to study, or merely walk through and scan for friends. Most glaringly insufficient is Russell Theater, a cramped and ugly approximation of a theater. Gonzaga has claimed that a performing arts hall is in the works, but there is still no sign of progress. Functionality still rules the day at Gonzaga—it has the essentials. It doesn’t have luxuries such as an on-campus movie theater, concert venue, or full-blown coffeeshop. But once you get used to the idea that concerts are in Crosby, movies are shown in lecture rooms, and any number of spots can be a coffeeshop, it’s not so bad.

Fantastic Facilities
The gym, library, student center are all great. The campus is always very lively with students and you never feel alone. The designated areas for things such as studying and working out are great.

Great Facilities
The last decade of basketball revenue is clearly paying off and the facilities at GU are top notch. All the buildings are modern and sleek (Jepson Center or Herek Center) or traditional and classy (College Hall), depending on what the school is going for. The dining hall is a little dingy and the theater is way to small considering the quality of our drama department, but the administration has been looking into both.
