great food
I am a vegan who lives in New York City an I have to say that I am very pleased with the food at Goucher College. While I am some complaints (the lack of soy milk in all of the dining halls, for instance!) I am generally very satisfied. Goucher has two main dining halls-- Stimson and Heubeck. Stimson is much larger and has a wide variety of food-- pasta made to your liking, pizza, stir fry, meat on the grill, salad, sandwiches, and different hot food depending on the day. Heubeck is the more vegetarian friendly dining hall of the two and specializes in Asian food. I, personally, think that the quality food in Heubeck is equal, if not superior, to that of many good restaurants in NYC. In addition to that we have Pearlstone, where you can get chicken fingers, sandwiches, hamburgers, etc to stay or to go. It isn't the healthiest, but you can also buy hummus, large containers of soy milk, soy pudding, vegan noodles and choose from a wide variety of granola bars. Alices, which is located in the library, is open until 3 am and serves coffee, pastries, smoothies (not very good) and a limited variety of sandwiches. All in all, I would say that the campus dining is greatly superior to that of most other colleges and universities.
