So Many Clubs and Organizations

Goucher has a club rush day where students can learn about clubs and organizations on campus. You can sign up for all of them if you want. There is also intramural sports which is awesome if you don't have time for college soccer, you can build your own team and have games just for fun. Awesome! There are dance clubs, language clubs, tea clubs, game clubs, etc. So many options to choose from, and it is a great way to meet new people.

Open Minded and Accepting Campus

I love that Goucher is so welcoming to anybody. It is very easy to be yourself on this campus. The professors are wonderful, friendly individuals who take the time to get to know their students.

No One Cares About You, Only Your Money.

The school gets almost all of their money from the insanely high cost of tuition, which is not nearly worth it by the way. They pretend to care in order to keep you from transferring, but they don't even do a good job of that. Don't go to Goucher.

Facts

Traditions
  • Club Rush Day: During the first week of class, student clubs set up information tables along Van Meter Highway to recruit new members. No one passes through without signing up for at least one club.
  • Family Weekend: Held at the beginning of October, students invite their families to check out Goucher life. Highlights include a lunch with Goucher’s president, a student talent show, athletic events, and free transportation to the Inner Harbor.
  • Midnight Madness: The pep rally for Goucher’s basketball teams, held at midnight on the first day of the basketball season. Events include the introduction of the teams and mascot, games, prizes, music, a three-point shootout contest, and a slam-dunk contest. The most school spirit you’ll ever see at Goucher.
  • Senior Week: The celebratory week between the end of finals and graduation. The entire week is one big party. The Alumni House and senior class representatives organize events for seniors, including a pub crawl in Fell’s Point, a trip to an amusement park, tickets to an Orioles game, a cookout, and any other events seniors request.
  • Winter Meltdown: An afternoon of stress relief held before finals week of the fall semester. Activities include free professional massages, board games, miniature golf, and food. The biggest attraction is the car smash: students trash a car with sledgehammers and baseball bats for the ultimate stress relief.
