College Prowler Take

College students love to eat, and Towson loves to take advantage of it. There are many restaurants within walking distance from Goucher that vary in food, price, and atmosphere. The closest and most popular is T.G.I. Friday’s. On Friday nights, you’re bound to see at least 10 people from Goucher hanging out or working there. For late-night snacks, students head to the 24-hour Towson Diner or Nautilus Diner. Although the Nautilus is farther from campus (about 10 minutes), the food is much better—and cheaper—than the Towson Diner’s. Gotta have Starbucks in the morning? There are three within walking distance from campus. Most of the cheaper restaurants also offer free delivery to Goucher, including Bubba’s Breakaway, Towson’s Best, and a variety of pizza places. There are plenty of nicer, more expensive restaurants, such as The Melting Pot and Bahama Breeze, for students who appreciate dining in style or who want to celebrate the weekend.

If you’re looking for something a little more exotic, Towson offers many Asian restaurants and sushi bars. For other international cuisines, head to Baltimore City, which has it all. Eateries line the Inner Harbor and range from cheap hotdog stands to expensive five-star steak and seafood restaurants. Little Italy’s intimate restaurants are not to be missed. Fell’s Point is home to Baltimore’s best pub grub. Whatever food you’re craving, Towson and Baltimore City have it covered.

There's definitely a lot of places...

There's definitely a lot of places to go off campus for lots of different budgets. Within walking distance is the mall that has the food court, P.F. Chang's, and Cheesecake Factory; Bahama Breeze; The Melting Pot; and many others, including Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Greek food. Downtown is a great area to find a place to eat. If you want to drive, there are also lots of places to eat in Baltimore.

A lot of people go to Cheesecake Factory, but I don't go there because there's one back home, and it's too expensive. There are a lot of good pizza places that deliver late, and that's important to a Jersey boy like me. There are enough meal options on campus though that most people eat their meals on campus almost every night.

The restaurants around campus are...

The restaurants around campus are amazing. Goucher is a part of a Web site that lets you order your food online and then either go pick it up and pay there or have it delivered to campus, usually directly to your dorm building. School food isn't bad, but there are amazing options within a 15-minute walking distance.

The restaurants off campus are...

The restaurants off campus are delicious. There is a good ethnic mixture, including Thai, Japanese, Italian, Greek, raw/vegan/healthy options, fondue, Mexican, and Chinese. And they are all only a maximum of 15-minute's walking time. Some good spots are Sushi Hana, Pasta Mista, Thai One On, and Zia's Café.
