Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

College students love to eat, and Towson loves to take advantage of it. There are many restaurants within walking distance from Goucher that vary in food, price, and atmosphere. The closest and most popular is T.G.I. Friday’s. On Friday nights, you’re bound to see at least 10 people from Goucher hanging out or working there. For late-night snacks, students head to the 24-hour Towson Diner or Nautilus Diner. Although the Nautilus is farther from campus (about 10 minutes), the food is much better—and cheaper—than the Towson Diner’s. Gotta have Starbucks in the morning? There are three within walking distance from campus. Most of the cheaper restaurants also offer free delivery to Goucher, including Bubba’s Breakaway, Towson’s Best, and a variety of pizza places. There are plenty of nicer, more expensive restaurants, such as The Melting Pot and Bahama Breeze, for students who appreciate dining in style or who want to celebrate the weekend.

If you’re looking for something a little more exotic, Towson offers many Asian restaurants and sushi bars. For other international cuisines, head to Baltimore City, which has it all. Eateries line the Inner Harbor and range from cheap hotdog stands to expensive five-star steak and seafood restaurants. Little Italy’s intimate restaurants are not to be missed. Fell’s Point is home to Baltimore’s best pub grub. Whatever food you’re craving, Towson and Baltimore City have it covered.

Towson Dining

There are many eateries a short walk or drive away from campus from the common pizza places, Chinese take-out (beware of these; many are pretty terrible), and fast food joints to wonderful foreign cuisine. Several reasonably priced Indian restaurants are located just off the Towson Circle (maybe a ten minute walk from campus), as is a wonderful Vietnamese pho restaurant. PF Changs and The Cheesecake Factory are right across the street at the mall where you can also find your typical food-court. Many places near campus have even paired with Goucher to allow students to use "Gopher Bucks" (money that has been put into their student accounts, accessible through the student's ID card). And if none of this suits your fancy, there is a Fresh Market, Safeway, and Trader Joe's a five to fifteen minute walk away (depending on the store).

Cheap and Collegey

Towson circle has a good variety of ethnic food, and american classics. That being said, it's marketed towards college students, so it's cheap, but not top notch.

Off-Campus Dining

There are several great places to eat around Goucher College. They range from very affordable to expensive. They are very easy to get to, and some of them have great student discounts. My personal favourite is Strapazza Pizza.
