College Prowler Take
Goucher is small enough that you can walk to any point on campus within 15 minutes, so there is no need for a campus shuttle. The great thing about the College’s location in Towson is that everything you need is within walking distance. However, while this seems like a great convenience, walking to the grocery store or the bank is a challenge during the cold winter months and the torrential downpours in the spring. Besides calling a cab or catching a ride with a friend, there is no other reliable way to reach your local destination. Public transportation in Towson is limited. The Collegetown Shuttle is great if you are taking classes at a local college or if you want to check out university parties without having a designated driver. Catching a ride to the airport is never a problem, as airport shuttles make frequent stops at Goucher before summer and winter break. However, if you want an off-campus job or a life outside of Goucher in general, bring your car. It’s the easiest and most reliable mode of transportation in Towson and Baltimore.

Public transportation is fine. People often complain about it because it is not as good as Boston, New York, or DC, but it doesn't "suck." It's passable—you can get where you need to go.

There isn't much public transportation. The Collegetown Shuttle is free to students who attend schools in the Baltimore area, and it runs to the Inner Harbor, the train station on the weekends, and even to Target and Wal-Mart on Sundays. It also goes between the schools and to the mall. Goucher is also within walking distance of a huge mall and a decent grocery store.

Maryland public transit sucks. The Collegetown Shuttle system isn't bad though—you can definitely get into Baltimore if you want, but it's much easier if you have your own car.
