College Prowler Take
The weather in Maryland is more unpredictable than the status of meat in Stimson Dining Hall. In November, it can be sunny and 60 degrees one day and snowing the next. The No. 1 rule in Maryland is never trust the weatherman. Fall runs from September to November with temperatures between 50 and 80 degrees, and winter runs from December through February with temperatures from below zero to 60 degrees. Wear layers of clothing because the temperature often warms up in the afternoon. It snows frequently in the winter, but it usually results in a slushy mess more often than it accumulates on the ground. However, when it sticks, it can stack up. Snow days are the best days—the snow-covered campus is beautiful, and it becomes even more beautiful when you find out classes are cancelled. Spring starts mid-March and runs through May. While the temperature ranges from 40 to 80 degrees, the wind chill in March knocks down the temperature by 10 degrees, so don’t put away your winter clothes just yet. April is notorious for torrential downpours. May is the best month on campus, and students fill the residential quad on these warm, sunny days. Temperatures from June through August can reach up to 100 degrees, and with the humidity, it’s almost enough to knock you out. While the weather and seasons are unpredictable, overall, it is certainly bearable, as well as beautiful.

The weather changes a lot. There is a lot of rain, so bring an umbrella. There are also random warm days in the winter, which is nice. It gets very warm and humid at the end of the spring.

Maryland's weather is crazy! We have snow one day, and then the next day, it gets up to almost 50 degrees and melts all the snow into a slushy wet mess. The summers are very hot and humid, so when you get here you'll want to be in shorts for the first few weeks. The fall and spring are very pretty—but they don't last very long.

Maryland weather is all over—you want everything from shorts and tank tops to sweatshirts, scarves, and fairly solid winter coats. Umbrellas are a must. It might be 70 and sunny in the morning, 50 and raining in the afternoon, then sunny and 30 in the evening, or 70 again.

Maryland really has all four seasons. It's kind of hot at the beginning of fall semester, then it gets colder and colder, it snows a bit, and then it gets warmer. It's a full circle kind of thing.
