Warsaw/Winona Lake community is great and friendly

Winona Lake is a very scenic area. There are lots of little shops and cafes down by the lake, and the locals are very friendly toward students. There is a lakeside park that a lot of students hang out at. Chicago is only three hours away, and Fort Wayne is about 45 minutes. Warsaw is 5 minutes away and offers more big-box stores and chain restaurants.

Local atmosphere is very calm and friendly for the most part, except for one weird experience where I was wearing a red headband for Alpha Female week, as red is my hall color, and it had the words "A3W" written on it. I was walking on campus, wearing this said headband, when this car pulled up and a guy leaned out and yelled "Get off the street punk!" apparently it's because it's a gang color, but why they yelled at me when I was on Grace College campus I didn't get, as this is a christian college campus, why would a gang member be there, and wearing their gang colors? So there are some exceptions to the "friendly" environment. Anyway, the lake is a wonderful place to go to in one's free time, and the forests and bike paths are nice. It is fairly safe, and there are a few cultural events, but if you want to go to a mall or do anything else that is more fun, you have to drive all the way out to Fort Wayne, which is a bummer.

The area is beautiful and there is plenty of shopping to do. Everyone is very kind to Grace students. There are many events going on all of the time.

Bike Trails – Has an awesome bike trail system that invites people to bike. Nice parks in the area. The businesses support the students through hiring them to work as well as offering students special discounts as well as special campus nights.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
