Lamoni is a small town with plenty of restaurants. it has thrift stores, and every year in September we have a reenactment.

The computer labs at Graceland University are usually crowded at crunch times, like midterms and finals, and the internet fails a lot. Most people do have their own computers, and with WiFi, it is definitely nice to have your own. If you don't own one, don't worry it is not a problem.

The Commons has some good days, with a lot of bad days. The swarm is good, but only after 9 pm, so that is kind of a pain in the butt.

Some of the housing options are great, but the girls dorms are in a major need of update. Tess Morgan needs some help. But the community is great

Health & Safety:
We have a safe campus, and I feel safe when I am out in the community.

we accept anyone and everyone for who they are. We don't go out over our way to exclude someone from anything.

Health & Safety:
We have people that go around campus every night and make sure no one is drinking on campus. so that creates a safe environment. as far as health goes its great minus the food. just doesn't taste good some days

Graceland University Independence, MO campus is a distance campus that is orginated from the Lamoni, IA campus. Our campus currently doesn't have campus dining because the campus is so small and has a small amount of students attending. Students often bring their own meals or commute to local resturants.

The Graceland University School of Nursing holds high standards for their students. They expect their students to respectfully represent their school and hold a good name and reputation, considering that their students are studying to be future nurses within the medical field. Upon admission, drug testing and background checks are required. The university counselors monitor the students grades throughout the semester to make sure they are properly succeeding in their classes. If a student recieves a grade lower than a 73% on a test or assignment, that student will recieve a "concern slip"and it adviced to meet with their academic counselor. If a student recieves more that 3 slips within a semester they are at risk for being dismissed from the program.

Graceland University has one computer lab available for students to use, along with a handful of computers in the library. The number of students at our campus is very small so the avaliable number of computers works out great. The university allows students to print papers at a resonable price. There is wifi through out the entire building. The connection and speed of the wifi is fast and efficient. If our campus comes across any technical problems we have staff that are always avaliable to help.

There isn't many resturants or dining areas near the Graceland University Independence, MO campus. The campus is located on the opposite side of town from the main hot spots. I often bring my own lunch because driving to the other side of town often takes up most of my lunch time.
There is a place called The Square a few blocks from campus that has a couple reliable places to eat. One I would recommend to others is Dave's Deli. A small bakery and deli that makes there own donuts and bread for their sandwhiches. A+.

There is a lot of diversity on campus which gives you a more cultural experience even while residing in small town Iowa. The Amish community is a big part of Lamoni and is an interesting segment of the community around the school.

There are a lot of activities available to participate in, but when it gets to about February or March there is a lull in activity that I personally believe leads to much of the depression felt by the students. (especially those who come from warm climates where they can be active outside year around.)
College Sophomore 2013-08-15T21:00:34Z
I enjoy the community created by the housing system but feel that the level of commitment to the students lacks and the strictness of the school is outdated making it difficult for some students to fit and feel accepted as they are.

Since i am an education major, we have to do a practicum. but over the summer i work at a summer program in hawaii called summer fun. we work with kids and enjoy the summer. the pay is really good, but the pay is not what im there for. seeing the kids having fun and enjoying my time while working with kids is just the cherry on top!

The student life on my campus is not the best nor its the worst. I would say its a little around the average of how other schools are. My campus is very small and we are located in a small town but there are good school spirit and that's what brings our small campus and community together

Masters level performance is very valued and there are strict policies enforcing our academic work, such as a 0% tolerance of plagiarism.

In online coursework, it's easy to feel disconnected from the university's athletic performance and school spirit.
