There are very few students who do not adore Grand Valley. Many appreciate the country setting and nearness to a big city. The diversity and range of activities and organizations ensures that everyone finds their niche, although for some students it takes a year and little social effort. This is similar to the academic experience of many students; some find passing classes to be no problem, while others have to study often. Professors and staff are excellent at helping students who have trouble succeeding and seek assistance. Everyone is different at Grand Valley, a fact that is embraced and understood by all students and faculty.
In general, students agree that Grand Valley is an experience they would never trade. Organizations offer a social life, networking, and depending on the organization, academic help. It is important that students have an occasional break from the stress that inevitably comes with homework deadlines. Club meetings, eating out or seeing a movie with friends is a great way to take a short break from school. It is also important to have a regular sleep schedule and diet. Spending time outside, especially in Grand Valley's rural setting, can help calm the mind and give a student some breathing room.
