Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are currently four main on-campus dining areas: The Connection, The Commons, Kirkhof Center, and Kleiner Commons. Each of the facilities has a deli, healthy option, pizza, and a few unique stations. The Commons has the most dining options, including an all-you-can-eat-buffet and a bagel shop. There are also four convenience stores ("C-Stores") around campus; two are in classroom buildings, which are much appreciated by students with three-hour classes. Meal plans range from 19 meals per week to 40 per semester, and each meal includes an entrée, side, and pop or milk. The C-Stores offer breakfast options that include juice, but juice is not included with a meal at any other dining areas.

The food on campus is fresh and generally considered good by students, although some options can become boring and repetitive if a student eats in the same area for nearly every meal. There are vegetarian options at each dining area, and many offer vegan selections, as well. Grand Valley's golf course has a public restaurant that is expensive but accepts Debit Dollars and is occasionally worth the money. While the food is good, eating off campus a few times a month is fun and gives students a break from campus food.

GVSU Campus Dining

Campus Dining at GVSU is relatively poor. Most options are greasy and are not appealing. Without a meal plan it is very expensive to eat here.

Tasty, but Could Use Some Variety

I've never eaten in campus dining, but the restaurants on campus are pretty good. Einstein's bagels is pretty good. It's great for between classes, but if you want real food, head downtown Grand Rapids!
