Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The on-campus housing is of good quality. There are different dorm styles to choose from on every side of campus. The north end of campus houses the majority of the incoming freshmen. Freshmen can choose from traditional, suite, one-bedroom apartment, or two-bedroom apartment styles, while most upperclassman housing is on the south side of campus and is apartment-style. Each student coming to live on campus is provided with a long twin bed, closet- or drawer-style dresser, desk, trash can, two bookshelves, and a desk chair. Beds can be lofted on top of the two bookshelves or on top of the dresser and desk, for three different bed heights. Apartment-style rooms have small kitchens that come with a mini-fridge, oven, and stove. Two-bedroom, apartment-style units also come with a table, couch, arm chair, another desk chair, and another trash can.

Living on the north side of campus is the most fun for freshmen because having all the new students together makes it easy to meet other students. Juniors and seniors often desire a more independent feel, which is offered at the Grand Valley Apartments (GVA) or the Laker Village townhomes. While Niemeyer, Murray, and South B can feel hotel-like, they are also the newest, most secure, and considered the nicest housing on campus, and they are mostly apartment-style with two- or four-bedroom options. Laker Village offers a more house-like feel. The Ravines and GVA are the oldest housing on campus and are in desperate need of repair.

Pretty Good Overall

The campus isn't that old so no dorms are absolutely terrible. The honors dorms are the best, as is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If you are in the Honor's College you need to be in these dorms! The other ones are alright though too.

Apartment style "b" are very nice. The bathroom was a great size to share. The bedrooms are small, but cozy. The living room was VERY nice.

For a freshman dorm, they aren't THAT bad. I've been to several schools where it's much much worse. The upperclassmen dorms are much better, however the regular dorms are small, and without air.
