Freshmen might be a little skeptical about the “Grove City family” lingo that they hear during orientation and opening convocation. However, by graduation, many undergrads admit that Grove City College is a second family. Like almost any real family, Grove City College has its unpopular rules, its rebels, its squabbles, and its quirks. But also like a real family, there’s a bond—despite the blemishes. Not everyone is in love with their college family, but Grovers have no excuse to feel like just one of the crowd. Some students complain their way through four years of killer academics, narrow-mindedness, and local boredom, but by the time most of them actually finish, they have enjoyed Grove City College, despite their gripes. In contrast, many students rave about the school right from the start. They thrive on the academic challenges, accept Christian values, and change the local atmosphere with their passionate desire to serve God and others. The popularity of activities like Orientation Board, Homecoming Committee, and tour guiding are sure signs that students love their school. Grovers, the mainstream and rebel alike, make life-changing connections here. They become the happily-married, successful alumni who bring their kids to Homecoming for an extended family vacation or reunion. Grove City Student ReviewsWhat's This?Filter:

IM Sports Are Great
B
Some people are really into athletics, while others don't really pay attention. I fall into the latter category. Our football team isn't great, but our lacrosse team is really good. Intramural sports are a big deal. There are tons of them and they're really fun. |

Incredibly Safe
A+
Grove City is one of the safest campuses in America. There was actually a contest on campus to see who could come up with the best suggestion to improve campus safety, which made me laugh because it's already so safe. I leave my dorm room unlocked 24/7, leave my belongings unattended to go to meals, and have never had a problem with theft. It's a blue-light campus so if you ever found yourself walking alone and uncomfortable, you could use the blue light station and have campus safety come and get you. As a young woman, I've never felt unsafe walking around campus by myself. |

Wireless Everywhere..When?
B-
We've been promised campus wide wireless access for almost two years now. Tiny baby steps are made each semester - now we can get it in a few more lobbies! Woo! But..still not at all what has been promised. I suppose that's related to the other major complaint - the speed of the network is throttled to the point of being unusable, especially during 'peak hours'. Just up our tuition a little and give us good internet access. |
