Grove City College enforces a zero tolerance policy with regard to alcohol and drug use on campus. Students over 21 are allowed to leave campus to drink responsibly, as long as they come back sober. While some students have hidden and used alcohol in their rooms, student residential assistants and resident directors are required to report any drug violations and any underage or on-campus alcohol. Off-campus parties are not permitted to serve alcohol, and fraternities have lost their charters for such alcohol violations. Because Grove City College is a private institution and does not receive any government aid, campus security is not required to report any alcohol or drug violations to the town police force. Campus security will enforce rules, but violations are dealt with in house and kept low key. Grovers are all-around smart people and tend to keep any illicit activities undercover. Blowing that cover leads to suspension or expulsion.

However, partiers suggest befriending campus security to increase the odds of a lenient look the other way. The administration and campus security rarely performs room checks, even though College policy gives them the right. However, since campus security faces few real crisis situations, they will often crack down on petty vehicle violations, trespassing, and “improper use” of grassy spots that look inviting for Frisbee. All said, campus security prefers to befriend rather than badger students. A security guard may even join a student-worship group before locking the chapel doors on a Saturday night.

Too Strict

Campus Security is really strict. The campus is a dry campus. It's super serious so it is best to stay away from alcohol on campus even if you can get away with it. There are also inter-visitation rules where girls and guys can be in each others rooms until midnight.

Campus Security Is Annoying, Otherwise Your OK

its a small town, 2 police cars and the college's campus safety. Since there is no way for them to justify thier paychecks, they resort to writing citations for jaywaliking college kids (the real cops) or, if its really late, disrespectfully asking where you have been/been up to. While there is really never any followup, its very obnoxous! as for campus rules, GCC gets a bad rap, if you dont do drugs and are prudent about drinking you will be fine
