Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

If you’re looking for a mosaic of racial diversity, religious faiths, sexual orientations, and political beliefs, you’ve got the wrong school. Over 50 percent of the student body comes from Pennsylvania, and an overwhelming majority comes from white, middle-class homes.

The handful of African Americans don’t even account for one percent of the student body. Some students express dismay over the lack of diversity, and by all indications, accept and desire greater racial diversity. If the membership numbers of the College Democrats Club are any indication, Grove City College does not boast much political diversity either. However, a vocal group of Libertarians keeps up lively discussions with the conservative Republican majority.

Not Quite, but Improving

GCC is notorious for not being very diverse. Most of the students are white, middle-class, and from conservative Christian backgrounds. There is some ethnic diversity with Asians and African Americans, but they comprise a small minority of the campus population. You can find some people who are not Christians or who are not politically conservative, but they are the minority as well. The college is making more of an effort to reach out to minorities, through things like an organization called Students Excited About Diversity.

Majority the Same White Students

There is no diversity at all. 99% of the student body are American and come from around the area. The international population is very very VERY small. A lot of the students here have grown up sheltered and are very ignorant of real world issues. They tend to hold themselves up higher than everyone else because of their faith which is pretty annoying.
