If you're looking for a mosaic of racial diversity, religious faiths, sexual orientations, and political beliefs, you've got the wrong school. Over 50 percent of the student body comes from Pennsylvania, and an overwhelming majority comes from white, middle-class homes.
The handful of African Americans don't even account for one percent of the student body. Some students express dismay over the lack of diversity, and by all indications, accept and desire greater racial diversity. If the membership numbers of the College Democrats Club are any indication, Grove City College does not boast much political diversity either. However, a vocal group of Libertarians keeps up lively discussions with the conservative Republican majority.
