Best Ways to Get Around Town

  • A bike
  • A car - there are no taxi or bus service directly serving the area
  • A comfy set of walking shoes

How to Get to the Airport

  • A cab ride to the airport costs about $50.
  • Take I-79 South, exit 60B (Moon Run/Airport), Route 60 North towards Airport (follow the airport signs). Travel approximately 12 miles to Airport Exit #6.

College Prowler Take

The 150-acre campus is easily conquered by a set of good sneakers. Grovers need approximately five minutes to walk from dorm to class. Students often walk into town for favorites like the Coffee Grove and the Guthrie. Venturing beyond Grove City Township? A bike might work, but keys become a necessity once students explore anything farther away than Wal-Mart.

Borrowing a friend’s car is not uncommon, but failing to pay for gas and getting back to campus later than promised are two great ways to challenge/destroy a close friendship. Since nearly half of the student body lives in Pennsylvania, cars provide the most popular method of getting home. Carpool options travel word-of-mouth, via e-mail, or are posted on a “Ride Board” on the South end of the PLC. Aiming for the other side of the country? Students can get shuttled over to the Pittsburgh airport.

It doesn’t exist. But then again it takes you longer to say ‘Grove City’ then to actually walk through the town and back, so I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Who needs public transportation (and what town)? Your feet can get you to CVS, a bike can take you to Wal-Mart, and a friend’s car can cruise up to Rachel’s Roadhouse.

Grove City is too small for that, but it is easy to walk to most places, or hitch a ride with a fellow student. I don’t believe we even have a bus station. I-79 and I-80 are about it.

Um, who said there was any public transportation? Maybe one old taxi?
