Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The weather in the Piedmont of North Carolina has a season to suit those from everywhere in the country. It is hot with thick, humid air in the first and last month of the school year. It doesn’t get too hot until almost finals in late April/May, but is often warm when students arrive in August. In the winter, there are three or four snows a year. The snow does not normally stay on the ground more than a couple of days, but ice and snow sometimes draw class cancellations due to poor driving conditions. The number to call to see if the college officially closes is (336) 316-CLOS. Unfortunately, the announcements are often made for the day in question at 6:30 a.m., when weather conditions are changing, so you end up preparing for classes all the same.

Guilford has beautiful, cool fall seasons filled with bright colors of sugar maple leaves and a slight pleasant bite to the air. Azaleas and other campus flowers bloom in the spring among the thick sea of well-manicured grass on campus. Overall, there are not any horrible extremes, and students should bring clothing for all seasons.

Beautiful Southern Weather

The weather here is awesome. It's warm, sunny and beautiful most of the year, and when it gets cold it's not a hassle. The weather can be pretty irregular, 80 one day and 60 the next, but otherwise it's great.

Weather

When it snows a lot classes get cancelled because professors don't live on campus and the roads get really icy; and understandable safety precaution. When it rains classes are still on. Some people go out and run around and play in the rain; so it's not that bad. When its sunny people like to go out to the lake and lay down and often do bonfires making smores and roasting hot dogs. And sometimes people from off campus often bring their dogs to run around and play. Also people suntan on the lawn or play soccer, football or frisby outside. People are very friendly so its easy to join a game if you want. Depending on where you live its fairly easy to get to class.

the summer is GORGEOUS and so is the fall but this winter has been bitterly cold with lows at night in the teens. I don't think that's normal nc weather though. I haven't experienced the spring here yet but i'm sure its just as beautiful as fall. Plus the grounds are just gorgeous with the lake and woods so watching to seasons come and go and everything change is really awesome
